Real Unemployment Rate May Exceed 20% ?

Rumors on the Street of the Unemployed

LarrWayne Po
According to various reports, the real unemployment rate is estimated at over 17%. Who knows the exact figure? No one including the government. According to popular opinion, based upon the websites visited thus far, the under 10%unemployment reports are not even attempting to count the total of those unemployed, only counting those, that are currently looking for jobs, as unemployed, does not include those, who have given up looking for work, either due to discouragement or lack of gas money to continue looking.

In addition, many part time job workers, that may work a little here and there, (under the table workers) are surely out of work, or are working less than is desirable. After all, living without electricity and or city water, is requiring unwelcome adjustments for many in this country. (Landing a job, can also be more difficult, when having a fresh shower and your best clothes clean prior to an interview, is not always an option).

If the government doesn't know how many immigrants are currently staying in the U.S., how can the government know how many of the immigrants are unemployed, to add to the list of the unemployed? Some of the unemployed immigrants may wish they could go back home, but can't afford the fare to get there.

Former hookers and drug dealers may be looking for another job, due to a loss of customers, and some of those that can, may have registered to vote. Gasoline thieves may be finding it harder to find gas tanks with much fuel in them, as well as having a tougher time finding a customer. that has the money to buy the stolen gasoline. Oh well, life has its awakenings.

LOL. I was really concerned for the gas thieves and hookers, I hadn't thought about them before you mentioned it. Our city was at the highest percentage of unemployment for the nation but we also had the highest per capita meth labs in the nation. That just shows the entrepreneurial spirit of our area.

My guess is, even more companies will be announcing closings in the beginning of this new year. And, I found it odd that, last year, when companies closed right after Pres. Obama won the election, nobody asked the question, "Why didn't they stay open long enough to give him a chance?" That was not Bush's fault!

After asking a manager at the local Dollar General if I could have an application for a part time job, the manager looked at me and said no because she said that they had jusr hired a deaf guy to stock shelves yesterday. But I'm not physically handicapped; I only have a little age on me. Ironically that manger was no spring chiken either, go figureI have faith that God will ultimately bless the givers of this world, but the takers, those who never give anything back, have robbed Him.

Once you drop off the unemployment rolls, or were never on, you don't count in the tally. It is seriously underinflated. Good report.
