If you are considering Google AdSense as an source to make some money online, there are some things that you must know before you are mislead. I am sure you have seen many success stories across the Internet regarding money with Google AdSense and how you can make a lot of money with it, but honestly it is not realistic to believe you are going to rich from it unless you have dozens of websites that are generating a good amount of clicks on Google's links.

But you don't want to neglect this tool either. You should be looking at AdSense as a way to produce a residual income, but not something that is going to make you an instant millionaire.

Google, of course, keeps a great deal of secrecy regarding how much AdWords advertisers pay per each click directed to their site and the same applies for how much AdSense banner holders make from their websites.

The Internet is full of rumors regarding what people can earn through AdSense, but is not certain. Some do great with it, and some have trouble earning even 1 dollar. And here is something I bet you didn't know...

It is illegal to disclose how much you are earning with AdSense. So keep that in mind when you find people making monetary claims that seem too good to be true. And honestly, most of them are too good to be true. I have seen things on the Internet where people have claimed to have earned $1,000 per month or even $100,000 per month. Now I don't know about you but this is hard for me to believe.

So the truth to the matter is that if you are looking to maintain a simple website that you have by earning through AdSense rather than digging in your own pocket, then AdSense will be able to provide that for you.

Now if you have a website that has a lot of pages, then you run a good chance of making a whole lot more. Even if the pages don't get a lot of traffic, those link clicks will surely count and a lot of money can be earned through clicks. And that right there goes to show you that sometimes quantity doesn't matter nearly as much as quality.

No one can guarantee how much you will make with Google AdSense, but by taking in consideration a few of the essentials of AdSense you can generate a pretty good idea of what you will be working with.

The amount of visits you are getting daily. While there's no way to estimate precisely on this, if you find that your website is getting a lot of clicks per day then you know you are going to make pretty good money with it.

What your website is about. If your site is about anything popular (music, sex, whatever) you're bound to get a lot of banner clicks. These have a coefficient associated with them, called the CTR (click through ratio).

So basically, if you have popular content on your website it will increase your click through ratio which will increase your earnings.

The number of ads you are displaying. While you don't want to overdo it, increasing the number of links you display will generate more income for you website. And make sure you are spacing your ads out through your pages, because if you just put your ads in one spot on your pages people will just skip over them and of course that will decrease your clicks.

Your ad positions is key. Everyone has their own methods for positioning, but the main thing is to learning where readers will focus their attention on your website. Now this will be different for everybody because everybody's layout and content arrangement will be different. Keep in mind that finding these spots is essential to getting those clicks.

So as you can see there are many factors in making good money with Google AdSense, but it does require some work on your part.
