Reality or Dream
Poem for My Girlfriend
You know the Dreams you try to chase and you only get so far
Finally I've caught it and don't have to chase it anymore
I sensed that this Dream would be there whenever I was down
Even when I was lacking and just about to hit the ground
And as this Dream went on I could never think of waking
It filled all the open parts of me that have always been mistaken
This Dream could be taken everywhere I would ever go
Even if I left it behind one day it still would always glow
Could this dream ever know how much it really means to be
It made these feelings come out and run around inside of me
Till one day this Dream started to blur and fade as if it was leaving
Could it be I was starting to awake or did I just become deceiving
I wouldn't want to do any harm to such a thing that meant so much to me
It meant so much I never felt as if all my troubles were gone and free
This dream that once came and I thought I could never leave
Now seem to have vanished and left me in a strange place, far I couldn't believe
Even though its gone and its something I will never see
It left pieces that was once the Dreams, but now a part of me
I know it is Reality but how I wish it was a Dream

Post a CommentSome readers have noticed that the first line of the poem is reversed at the end of the poem. Most dont realize this. It compliments the poem entirely.
