Top 10!

If you are ever bored at night or even during the day and you begin flipping the channels on the television, you are most likely going to run into a reality television show somewhere along the way. When you stop on some television reality shows, you don't want to watch them simply for the television host. It makes you wonder how they even got their job. However, some reality television shows are much more interesting because the host knows what they're doing and they know how to do their job well. Here are my top 10 picks of reality television show hosts that rock the television screen and make their reality show much more enjoyable.
  1. Julie Chen. She is now rounding up her 11th season of Big Brother. She knows all about the game and she knows what is on everyone's mind. Connecting with the house guests and the audience is no job to her. Well, technically it is but it doesn't seem to be hard for her. She is a natural when it comes to hosting her reality television show. Maybe all the years on the The Early Show were helpful to her too. Anyways, she was born to be on television! You can learn more about Julie Chen at www.cbsnews.com.
  2. Jeff Probst. He is the host of Survivor, which is going into it's 19th season. Something has to be going extremely well for this reality television show to be going into season 19 and personally I think Jeff is a big factor. Knowing how to interact with the cast and just being an extremely good-looking guy who actually knows what he is doing at all times are big pluses. It's just enjoyable to sit back and watch him as the host of Survivor. He has confidence that seems like it rubs off on everyone around him. He never gets overly excited so you never know who he is rooting for to win the whole game. he is everything a host should be. You can learn more about Jeff Probst at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jeff_Probst.
  3. Phil Keoghan. Hosting The Amazing Race and going into the 15th season. He knows how to make it suspenseful for the racers when they get to the end of the leg of the race. Not knowing is a big suspense but he makes it in a way that even though you know what place they are in, you're heart still beats with wonder. You've got to love the accent as well. He is very clear in his speech that you can understand every word that he says but his accent is what makes him different from other hosts. Let's face it, isn't that what we look for is something different on television? You can learn more about Phil Keoghan at www.tvguide.com.
  4. Ryan Seacrest. The host of American Idol, kicking off season 9 in a few months. He quickly climbed up the ladder to achieve his dreams and more. He gives something special to the famous singing competition adding humor and suspense to both the contestants and the audience. It wouldn't surprise me if the judges weren't sitting on the edge of their seat during results night. You have to give him props, who else do you know that can give Simon a hard time and usually get the last word in? With confidence and knowledge of what he is doing, no wonder it didn't take him long to become the only host of American Idol. You can read more about Ryan Seacrest at www.americanidol.com.
  5. Tyra Banks. Rushing into cycle 13 on September 9th, Tyra Banks is the host of this show. Whether you like her or not, you have to admit that she knows exactly what she is doing with this show. Knowledge is what makes her such a great host for this show. She knows the modeling industry very well and it definitely shines through while hosting the show. She is a very involved host, giving tips and helping them along the way. You can read more about Tyra at www.tyrabanks.com.
  6. Fear Factor host Joe Rogan. If you have ever watched this show, you know why Joe Rogan made the list for best reality show hosts. His excitement and disbelief of everyday people doing these stunts and eating things that normally wouldn't even be thought of as food carry in his voice. He gets you excited about the show and in a way makes you want to be part of everything that is going on. Even though you wouldn't dare do half of the things that are being done by people who are part of the show. He is very charismatic and has a very friendly sense about him that makes you get enthusiastic about watching what is going on. You can learn more about Joe at en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Joe_Rogan.
  7. Cheaters host Joey Greco. He has no problem getting up close and personal with people. Cheaters has been on air for as long as I can remember. You feel better knowing that there is a host that is great at catching your significant other in an act they are definitely not suppose in. He is a very dedicated reality host due to his history as a host for Cheaters. Not only has he been threatened but he has actually been stabbed because of his job as a host. Now that's what I call a great host! You can learn more about Joey at www.joeygreco.com.
  8. Cat Deely. This host of So You Think You Can Dance is a very beautiful go-getter with an accent that rocks your socks off. When you hear her say to the contestants that they have done a good job, whether they did or not, you believe her. She has a very innocent tone to her voice that makes you think that she could convince you of anything. She knows her job duties and she fulfills them very well. You can learn more about Cat at www.fox.com.
  9. John Walsh, host of America's Most Wanted. When you watch this show and hear him talking about these criminals, it makes you want to run out the door right that moment and try to find them. Giving his history of having is son murdered is probably a big shot of adrenaline for people as well. Not only does he have a heart breaking past, he is a anti-crime activist and he is not afraid to share either of those with the public. I believe that is why he is one of the top reality television show hosts. You can learn more about John at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_Walsh.
  10. Ty Pennington, host of Extreme Makeover: Home Edition. He pours his heart and soul into his hosting job and it shows. You can't help but love this guy because of all the great things that he wants to accomplish and sets his goals on. He has done some rocky things in the past but who hasn't. I think it has greatly contributed to his hosting ability today. He is a good hearted guy that would wrap the world up in a box and gift wrap it just for you. You can read more about Ty at www.tvguide.com.

I like reality shows, so I know a lot of the people you listed. Jeff Probst, Julie Chen and Joe Rogan are probably my favorites. Their shows just wouldn't survive without them.
