Stomp The Yard - As much as I love movies that showcase Hip Hop dancers and the struggles and triumphs that they sometimes face, Stomp the Yard was not one of the movies that showcased it well. The premise is that a troubled youth from Los Angeles moves to Atlanta to attend college. The hip hop dancer catches the eye of two rival fraternities and a campus beauty whose boyfriend steps for one of the fraternities. I'm sure we can see what is going to come of this. It became the predictable boy meets girl, boy pisses off girl's boyfriend, boy beats girl's boyfriend at some sort of event, boy gets girl. Haven't we seen this enough that we can tell what's going to happen without spending the money?
Dan in Real Life - Yet another shining example of boy meets girl only to find out that girl is dating boys brother. This time it's a single father, and not a young single man, so this throws a couple kids into the mix. Dan, being an advice columnist, should be able to help himself, especially when he finds out that the girl he'd met at the bookstore was dating his brother. But no, Dan can't help himself, he has to have the girl. In the end, with some encouragement from his daughters, Dan gets the girl after she has broken up with his brother. Yet another typical, predictable story that will bore you to death.
Spiderman 3 - The third installment of Spiderman hit theatres this year. Like many other sequels and trilogies, Spiderman can only go so far. This third installment of Spiderman could be tagged Spiderman goes Emo. It's not surprising really, because there is no real excitement any more. There are only so many villains for Spiderman to defeat and with this being the third movie after on top of television specials and comic books. In this installment of Spiderman, we have the evil Spidey which, I'm sure we can figure out where this is going, means that Spiderman has to save himself from the evil and be the good Spiderman that the world expects. Another age old battle of good and evil, where good wins. Just once, can't we have evil win? Seriously.
Music & Lyrics - In Music and Lyrics, a washed up singer needs to write a song but has never written a decent lyric in his life. this sound different, doesn't it? It did to me too, but it was the same old thing. He meets a girl who can write and she helps him. During their time together writing the song, they fall in love. He does something stupid to screw up, so they end up going their separate ways, but get back together in the end. It turned out to be a boring, predictable story. I really think that the writers need to figure out something new and unique, less predictability, otherwise people are going to stop going to the movies.
Norbit - Norbit is just your typical Eddie Murphy plays over half of the roles in the movie. We've seen this movie multiple times with different titles and different names. How many times can we see Eddie Murphy in a fat suit before it gets to the point of being disgusting and old? Norbit hit this time. The premise of the movie is that this boy, Norbit, meets a girl (whom he also plays) who forces him to be her boyfriend. This lasts through school and into life where they marry. The problem is, however, that Norbit meets his dream girl and then has to find a way out of the marriage. The movie's tag line states; "Have you ever made a really big mistake?" and I really think that this time, Eddie Murphy made a mistake in doing this movie, especially after Dreamgirls.
What else is on my top 10 worse movies of 2007? Fred Clause is up there, along with the Aqua Teen Movie and TMNT (Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles). But the two worst, the two I can't even bring myself to write a review of at all are Who's Your Caddy and Hostel 2. Hostel was bad enough, but to make a sequel? What were they thinking.
And this is just skimming the surface of the movies that came out in 2007, in fact it hasn't even touched the movies that are due out in December. It's not been hard to find a bad movie, in fact it was easier to find a bad one than a good one this year. Will 2008 be better? One can only hope!

Good article. Check out my best and worst of 2007 when you get the chance.
I concur. Music and Lyrics was a HUGE dissapointment and made virtually no sense whatsoever, and Spiderman 3 ruined the other two for me. I can't watch them now without thinking about how crummy it's all going to end.
