Reasons Against Co-sleeping with Babies

Todd Hicks
Are you a parent or incoming parent who is looking for guidance in raising a baby? Have you considered or started the process of sleeping in the same bed with your infant? This is one of the dumbest ideas in existence. By reading this article, you will learn a variety of reasons why co-sleeping with your baby is not a wise idea.

First Argument against Co-sleeping: This can lead to your baby's suffocation. There is a high risk that you will roll on top of your baby or squeeze it between your wife or husband while you are sleeping, possibly crushing the baby to death.

Second Argument against Co-sleeping: There is another way that sharing your bed can be fatal to your baby. You are likely to accidentally knock it off the bed.

Third Argument against Co-sleeping: Co-sleeping with your baby can turn it into a punching bag. You are likely to accidentally kick him or her several times throughout the night.

Fourth Argument against Co-sleeping: Engaging in this practice can leave a disgusting mess. Your baby is very likely to drool on your bed sheets and blanket.

Fifth Argument against Co-sleeping: Your bed is not a natural habitat for your baby. It is supposed to sleep in a crib that will keep it from getting out.

Sixth Argument against Co-sleeping: You will put yourself into a position to have a hard time sleeping at night. It will be almost impossible for you to sleep if constant contact is made between you and your baby or you have to worry about protecting your baby from harm.

Seventh Argument against Co-sleeping: This is likely to derail your baby's development. Babies probably need to sleep in a secure closed space to grow and reach their full physical, mental and emotional capabilities.

Eighth Argument against Co-sleeping: You will probably buy yourself a ticket to the big house. If you are caught sleeping in the same bed with your baby, you are probably going to be arrested and charged with child endangerment.

Ninth Argument against Co-sleeping: This is unusual and dangerous in addition to being against the norms of society. Common sense should tell any rational person that it does not make sense to sleep in the same bed with a baby.

You have learned arguments against parents co-sleeping with their babies. Follow this advice to properly care for your baby and avoid problems!
