Dogs Are Excellent Listeners
There is nothing better than to have a really sympathetic listener and one which you know is actually listening to you. Dogs look at you and it is as if they understand everything you are saying to them. If you have had a bad day at work, a dog will snuggle with you and every bad situation of that day seems to melt away and all is right with the World again. I know dogs cannot understand what all we say to them, but dogs make a great shoulder to cry on. They cannot ask us what is wrong but they have great abilities to sense when something is not right with us and they are always there. As crazy as it may sound to some people, somehow it just really makes things better to talk to a dog.
They Are Always Happy To See Us
A dog's reaction to your arrival back home is always the same whether you have been gone five seconds or five hours. They act like they haven't seen you in months. There is nothing more relaxing and heartwarming than coming home after a long, hard day to a wagging tail and a happy face whether it is from working at a job or working in the yard. You will never get a welcome back home like that from a cat.
Dogs Are A Great Sense Of Security
When someone comes knocking on your front door, most dogs will growl and go to the door. This part of owning a dog makes me feel safer even when my husband is at home. Knowing that my dog would protect me gives me a great sense of security especially while my husband is at work. I know my dog will see and definitely hear anything before I may. I feel much safer just knowing that I have a dog at home.
Dogs Are Great Vacuums
If anything ever falls off of the table on to the floor, even if it is a tiny crumb that is the size of an ant, it will be gobbled up by a dog. They sit there anxiously awaiting the next morsel to fall and there is no need to show them where it is. No matter what it is that falls to the floor, it will be gobbled up in a split second.
Dogs Love Us Unconditionally
Dogs love us no matter what we say to them. Even the most cruel, harsh words we say, dogs have no sense of time. Two minutes later, they are there by our side with no idea of what we had just said to them. Dogs do not care if we have lots of money and live in a two story, four bedroom brick house or if we live in a two room shack. All dogs want is a lot of tender loving care.
Dogs Make Great Home Alarm Systems
Dogs can be great for securing your home. In many cases a dog's bark is more successful at warding off burglars than an expensive alarm system. Even though larger breed dogs have a much deeper and scarier sounding bark unlike the bark of a four pound teacup Chihuahua, just hearing a dog barking is usually enough to make a would be burglar flee from your home.
Dogs Are Loyal Friend
They never talk about us behind our backs. We give them food, water, shelter and lots of love and this is all we have to do to win a dog's trust. These cute and furry balls of adventure give us their full attention and never ending love and never ask us for anything in return. All they want is a scratch under the neck now and then and a few scratches behind their ears.
Dogs Do Not Argue With You
When you see your dog doing something he is not supposed to do, you scold him and tell him no and he stops. He does not tell you no and continues on with what he is doing. He actually listens to you and will walk away from whatever he was doing.
Dogs Make Great Blankets
During the cold winter months dogs make great blankets to snuggle up with on the couch and take naps with. Dogs keep your feet warm too if they lay on your feet while you are watching television or sitting at the computer at home.
Dogs Are Faithful
No matter what happens in their lives, dogs will never cheat on you or run around with someone else behind your back.
Everyone has heard the saying that dog's are man's best friend. How true it is!
