The P90X2 workout program is one of the extreme workout programs in the Beachbody lineup for 2011 and will be available this December. If you've been thinking about changing up your fitness routine and want to push yourself to the max, you could be a good candidate for the P90X2 home fitness program. You don't have to have completed P90X in order to do P90X2, but you do need to be in fairly good shape and be used to working out at least five times per week. The P90X2 fitness program is designed for athletes and fitness veterans, and will challenge all of your major muscle groups.

Here are some of the key reasons to do the P90X2 extreme workout program:

1. You want to build muscle. The core strengthening, functional training and strength training workout routines in P90X2 will help you build muscle and may even help you build muscle mass if you follow the right diet. If you enjoyed success with P90X, the P90X2 workout routine will build upon the training you completed in the original routine and can help you build even more muscle within a few months.

2. You want to increase endurance. The P90X2 workout program is designed for endurance athletes but can also help to increase stamina and endurance in any athlete. You'll need to work through all three phases of this workout program to reap the benefits, and can become much stronger and even leaner within 90 days.

3. You want to challenge your body. If you're stuck in a workout rut and want to challenge your body, the P90X2 workout program may be just what you need to jumpstart your metabolism and improve your overall fitness level. The post activation potentiation (PAP) training modules combined with the intense strength training routines will get you out of any exercise rut within a few short weeks.

4. You want to improve strength and flexibility. One of the DVDs in the P90X2 workout program is focused entirely on improving flexibility and mobility. You'll be engaging different muscle groups and flexing your way through various exercises to increase range of motion. You'll do variations of these routines throughout the workout program as well.

5. You want to get a strength training workout without going to the gym. For many people, a home fitness program like P90X2 is a better fit for their schedule than working out at a gym. If you're interested in starting a completely new strength training program at home, the P90X2 workout program could help you get the results you want. You'll be using a chin up bar, a foam roller, hand weights, medicine balls and a stability ball to perform a variety of strength training routines without stepping foot in a gym.
