Reasons Why Mary Kate Olson May Be Asking for Immunity in the Death of Batman Star Heath Ledger

According to Entertainment Tonight, When Heath Ledger passed away in the beginning of 2008, the world was saddened because of his mysterious death. This was a carrier on the rise, which was cut short in the middle of filming what was to become his greatest movie ever. This is the record setting Batman Dark Knight that was to become the best grossing movie to ever hit theaters. The one person who actually knew the cause of the sudden passing was Heath's close friend Mary Kate because she received the last call from the star before he had passes. Also, when his masseuse found him dead in his room she placed a call to Mary Kate who called her security guard and asked that he go to the scene as soon as possible. This scenario seems like a very odd and suspicious one, which is the reason, why drug enforcement arguments have asked to speak with Mary Kate but she has refused this request. She then asked for immunity from the possibility of prosecution in exchange for her speaking to agents. This brings about the question of why she would possibly request immunity in exchange for helping solve the death of her dear friend and ex boyfriend. The possible reasons include the following:

It has been shown that Ledger overdosed on a combination of drugs, which would have been illegal to get without a prescription. It is very possible that Heath had placed the call to Mary Kate in order to tell her that he was going to take the pills, which she supplied him with. If she did supply him with the drugs she could be prosecuted which she would hope to avoid.

It is possible that they have a friend that supplies the drugs and she had prior knowledge of Heath buying the drugs. She may want to reveal this information without the fear of facing charges because of the fact that she knew Heath was getting the drugs from someone, which is also illegal. In this case she would be enabling the action, which lead to him having the illegal drugs that essentially killed him.

It is also possible that she had no knowledge of him buying the drugs until he always had them in his apartment. In this case she would want the guarantee of immunity just to insure that no loophole is used against her to bring her up on charges and tarnish her reputation.
