Reasons Why Michael Vick SHOULD Play NFL Football

Vick Deserves a Second Chance!

Mike C.
Besides the fact that Michael Vick has already signed with the Philadelphia Eagles for 2009, the arguments still surround us. Folks are glad he's back, but on the other hand, there are even more folks who believe he should never have been allowed to return to the NFL.

I'm personally happy to see him back on the roster. Here are my personal opinions on why Michael Vick should be allowed to play NFL football without the scrutiny.

He's paid his debt. Michael Vick spent almost 2 years in jail after he confessed to charges in his involvement with dog fighting. People get sent to jail for punishment and as a rehabilitation. Jail isn't supposed to be a life sentence of doom (unless a person is sentenced to such). Vick has served his time, now let's see if he's rehabilitated. I seriously doubt he'll be back into dog fighting anytime soon. Also, he's not coming immediately back to the field - he's still on a NFL suspension. One last thing, look at how much he lost in assets and fines just because of dog fighting. It's unreal.

He's good! Michael Vick is an exceptional football player whose talents should not go down the drain.

He draws crowds which equals money! This is going to be interesting, watching Donovan McNabb and Vick compete for starter quarterback position. Vick is said to be the backup but why? I think there's something going on. Did they pick Vick with secret agenda of replacing McNabb? Fans and crowds will be watching this! Even if they aren't fans of Vick, there are curious football followers that will be tuned in and in the stands.

This is his second chance. Everyone gets second chances, right? It's up to him to either do good or get into trouble again. He deserves the fair chance to rebuild his life. Football IS his life.

There are other big shots out there who are criminals! There are plenty of professionals out there who have long rap sheets, criminal records, but they are in top positions around the globe.

There are worse crimes to commit. If Vick would have shot or ran over another man while drunk I could understand him being banned from the NFL for life. Dog fighting, as much as I love dogs, isn't that bad compared to murder, major drug busts, manslaughter, etc.

Michael Vick, good luck and best wishes on a great new window of opportunity. Don't let us fans down. We'll be watching!

He may be a good football player but he's a idiot and a criminal. Do you want your child to look up to him? So he served his time. Fine. But he shouldn't have star status after doing something this abhorrent.
