Reasons Why Not to Get Drunk

Hollywood Gives Us the Biggest Reason of All. .

Matthew Schieltz
The preacher on Sunday will oftentimes warn you against drunkenness and maybe some of your friends will lecture you about taking the night up with ol' Mr. GoodBottle, but there are plenty of reasons not to get drunk. Hollywood is the best example of the plethora of reasons why one shouldn't get drunk. Celebrities that drink and then go out to display their behaviors are an absolute disgrace to Americans all across the country? Does America really want to be known as the drunk country? There are plenty of examples of drunk Hollywood and some of the more recent ones are listed below:

#1. Paris Hilton

The famous Hilton celebrity may be thrown in the slammer for 45 days because she was driving with a suspended license. Why was her license suspended in the first place? It turns out that Paris Hilton was issued a DUI previously and got her license suspended. But of course, she thought that she was above the law. Let's see if she actually does time in jail or whether she'll actually be able to buy her way out of doing jail time.

#2: Paula Abdul

There was a buzz in early 2007 when Paula Abdul appeared on a news channel speaking about American Idol. She was obviously drunk in the television interview, but was then excused because the television channel conveniently had trouble with the sound system. Paula Abdul's representative made a statement saying that she wasn't drunk, but only very confused at the television station's sound problems.

#3: Mel Gibson

One of the best examples of Drunk Hollywood occurred in July of 2006. Mel Gibson was not only arrested for driving under the influence, but then continued swearing and making Anti-Semitic statements all the way to the jail. There is no cover-up for this Mel Gibson blunder, though.

#4: Rosie O'Donnell

Once again, Rose has openly made her position on a controversial subject. She advocated drunk driving on The View by making statements about drunk driving and how everyone would probably admit to driving drunk on one occasion or another. Sorry, Rosie, all of America is not like you and thinks that they have to drive drunk or advocate driving drunk just to stay popular.

These are only some of the ways in which Drunk Hollywood has clearly shown that it is a model for the whole world to see. There are many more examples, however, and one only needs to do a quick search to find the rest of them.
