Reasons for Writing for Lower Paying Helium Channels

Helium offers a variety of ways to earn additional money on its site and for many writers this is a welcome addition to their income. However, money is far from the only reason that writers contribute to the Helium site. In fact, it makes sense to place some articles in the areas that gain less traffic for several reasons.

Passion

Some people write simply to express their personal passion. When a writer has a passion for something, they may simply need to write about it. Writers choose to express themselves through the act of writing. One natural outcome of passion is sharing it with others. What better way to share passion with others than to post writings on Helium?

Overall writing star rankings

Helium does give other rewards besides money. Helium rewards writers who publish high quality articles with increased writing star rankings. All articles that do not fall into the reflection category are calculated within the over score of Helium writing stars. Writing for channels that may not necessarily earn the best residuals can increase income in another manner. The higher the writing stars, the greater the upfront payment becomes for writers. A member who has three stars earns less than a member who has five stars. Writing consistent high quality articles will eventually cause those writing stars to go through the roof.

Knowledge and expertise

The goal of Helium is to share knowledge with others. Not everyone has knowledge in areas that will be handsomely rewarded by the online community. An excellent example is the religious section of the Helium site. This happens to be an area of my personal expertise but those articles do not generate large amounts of income. So why write in these lower paying channels? I write to express knowledge and share it with the world, not just to make money.

Previous material

Some people have been writing for years before they discover the Helium website and have collected a large stockpile of previous writings. These writings may not be something that will generate a large source of residual income. Since the writing is already done, adding it to the Helium site only makes sense. Adding articles will only increase the opportunities to connect with readers. Existing writing takes little or no effort to add to the Helium site and increase a writer's personal exposure on the site.

The message could not be more clear, write because it what you love. Write because it is a passion that wells deep within your heart. Write because you must write. Write to add value and vitality to the world. Write because it is what writers should, would and must do.
