Rebecca Black Gives Black Friday a New Meaning

Who Said You Have to Have Talent to Become Famous?

Rebecca Black, another should-never-be product of the Ark Music Factory, exploded on Tweeter currently with over seven million hits on her recently released YouTube video Friday. Whoever told 13-year-old Rebecca Black she could sing should be doomed to listen to her song Friday for eternity.

There is really nothing good I can say about the video and song Friday. The video seems to be product of a low end production school. The song lyrics can only be described to be as cheesy as it gets.

The word "incoherent" comes to mind, but even that understates the unreality of what Rebecca Black has done here. The song does bring back some memories of my past when I was her age. I am reminded of listening to the Munchkins singing "ding dong the Witch is Dead" in the Wizard of Oz.

In the video Rebecca Black is presented with a real world problem of wondering where to sit in the car with her friends. These 13-year-old kids seem to think they are cool hipsters out for a cruising. They look more like they were torn away from their game stations and seen the sun for the first time in their short lives.

Ark Music Factory went all out producing Rebecca Black's song and video Friday. I was totally not convinced that these kids were the party animals they were supposedly portraying. In the middle of this fiasco there was inserted a rapper that was definitely old enough to have a driver license. I guess his job was give some cred to the video but he just made it that much more disjointed.

I did learn a few things from the torture of watching and listening to Rebecca Black and friends. One, it is possible to stretch a voice processor to its limits but with horrendous results. Two, there are rappers out there badly in need of work. Three, entertainment has reached its final destination. What could possibly be next? A Justin Bieber and Rebecca Black duet?

Yes, but have you heard the song, "Sunday?" Instead of partying, partying, partying--it's worshiping, worshiping, worshiping.

I didn't listen to it. I'm tire of the pre- "teeny bopper" movement.
