Recall for December 30, 2010

Chrysler Corporation

Over 120,000 cars and trucks have been recalled by Chrysler. This was actually a two-section recall with one involving the 2009 Dodge Journey crossover and the 2011 Ram 1500 pickup.

Also part of this recall were over 65,000 Dodge Journeys because of defective wires in the front-door wiring harness that could break over time in some vehicles. The wiring failure could cause the side air bag sensors to be deactivated and disable the side bags so they would not go off in a crash.

The company is not aware of any injuries to this the problem. If you own these cars, you will have to wait until February to be notified and for your dealer to fix the wiring harnesses in the front door.

In the second part of the recall over 56,000 Dodge Rams 1500 (2011) pickup trucks were recalled because of a problem with the rear axle bearing, which could cause a crash. It seems that some of these trucks do not have enough lubricant to stop this failure. The company seems to think that you will notice this problem in the first few hundred miles so I guess if you are over that limit you can sleep at night because you will also have to wait until February to get this fixed.

Excellent information :) - Lily Lily has been visiting other sites with a similar comment that mary lin just made. I have problems reading the characters for validation - not sure how the bot does it.
