Puritan's Pride

Pilgrim's Pride, the maker of the very popular chicken wings, has recalled about 180,000 pounds of the following: Pierce Hot & Spicy Breaded Chicken Wings and Sweet Georgia Brand Hot & Spicy Breaded Chicken Wings. The packages do not say that they have eggs in them and people can be highly allergic to eggs.

Pilgrim's Pride does a review of their labels as part of their quality assurance - so that is reassuring. That is when this huge problem was found.

You can easily determine if you have the recalled wings. They have the codes 1703 and 95122. So far no one has called the company sick but before you buy make sure these uncooked wings don't have the designation "P-413" printed next to a coded date, as well as coded designations of "0001," "0007," "0029," "0044," "0056," "0058," "0063," "0075," "0098," "0109," "0119," "0135," "0188," "0215," "0230," "0244," or "0279."

The wings were produced between January 1, 2010, and October 6, 2010, and sent to 30 food service distribution centers for further distribution to restaurants so made you should forgo chicken wings for awhile!

Consumers or distributors with questions regarding the recall should call the company at 800-321-1470.
