Rolaids Recall

Johnson & Johnson, the giant company who makes the antacid tablets called Rolaids, has recalled about 13 million packages of the Rolaids called Softchews. Why? They might have metal and wood particles!

A couple of weeks ago the company recalled one lot of the cherry flavored Rolaids Softchews. Now this recall includes Rolaids Extra Strength Softchews, Rolaids Extra Strength Plus Gas Softchews, and Rolaids Multi-Symptom plus Anti-Gas Softchews.

The company believes that these particles got into the Rolaids during the manufacturing process. They think the consequences to our health are small and are calling on a third party who might have caused this mishap.

The company is telling us to stop using the products and to contact McNeil Consumer Healthcare for a refund. If you have had bad effects from any of these Rolaids (or any product) contact the FDA's MedWatch Reporting Program.

Johnson & Johnson/MacNeil has been plagued with problems. You might remember that some lots of Tylenol, Mylanta, Children's Benadryl, Junior Strength Motrin, and Pepcid products were recalled this year.

You can find a complete list of all the Rolaids involved in this recall here, which is the source of this article.
