Living Foods, Inc. is recalling alfalfa sprouts that were distributed to retail and food service facilities through wholesale produce suppliers in Michigan.
The recall is for bulk and retail-size packages of Alfalfa Sprouts, because it has the potential to be contaminated with Salmonella, an organism which can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, frail or elderly people, and others with weakened immune systems.
