Recalls for February 19, 2011

More Baby Products Have Been Recalled

jobythebay
The Consumer Product Safety Commission has announced several recalls of children's products. I wrote previously about baby monitors manufactured by Summer Infant, Inc. being recalled.

We also have:

Tinkerbell, Buzz Lightyear and Lightning McQueen light-up watches sold by Disney are being recalled because they cause skin irritation and burning sensations in some children.

Somewhere around 1,200 Disney light-up watches were sold in Disney's theme parks, cruise ships and at the airport in Orlando, Florida. These watches were made in China. Disney will issue you a $40.00 refund. Call 877-560-6477, which is the company's recall hotline.

IKEA has recalled SNIGLAR Cribs. The recall involves about 16,000 cribs. The problem is the risk of the mattress supports collapsing. Some of the bolts are not long enough so the mattress supports can detach and collapse. You can figure out if you have a SNIGLAR Crib by checking the bolts. If the bolt doesn't go through the nuts, take your baby out of the crib! IKEA is providing free repair cribs (how big of them). The model number of the cribs is 60091931. They were made in Romania and sold for around $80.00.

SwimWays Corporation Kristi G Go & Grow chairs have been recalled because they might tip over.

Burlington Basket Company bassinets were recalled because of the possibility of your baby falling.

Nurses Choice Newborn Keepsake Mittens were recalled because the decorations might come off.

These fascinating articles about recalls shows the importance of everybody speaking up and contacting manufacturers with complaints, thus alerting the company and other customers of potential danger.

It is alarming that so many recalls are issued and the public is not always aware~Thanks for your articles~

Me too!! Rae, and you are welcome. It is scary. I don't remember these recalls when my kids were growing up. Either the products were better or the FDA/CPSC didn't work as well!
