Whole Foods Market's North Atlantic Region has voluntarily recalled Morningland Dairy and Ozark Hills Farm Raw Goat Milk Mild Cheddar Cheese. There could be a possible contamination by Listeria and Staphylococcus aureus. Please refer to the recall of September 1 for more information about Listeria.

So far no one has gotten sick from these items which were sold in the stores in West Hartford Center, Glastonbury, CT and in Hadley, MA. Return the items for a full refund. The stores have put up a warning as well so if you happen to be in those stores you will see a notice. Contamination was found during a routine sampling. The source of the contamination is not yet known.

The Procter & Gamble Company has voluntarily recalled some dry food for cats because of the potential of salmonella exposure.

The recall only pertains to Iams Indoor Weight Control with Hairball Care. It is the 6.8-pound bag with the code date of 02304173 (B1-B6) and the UPC code of 1901403921.

There may still be about 60 bags around so even though P & G has found most of them, they haven't found them all.

If you live in the following states you may have a bag: Illinois, New Mexico, Texas, Missouri, Iowa, Nebraska, Oklahoma, Kansas, Wisconsin, South Dakota, North Dakota, Montana, Wyoming and Colorado.

Throw the bag away and call P&G toll-free at 800-862-3332 for a refund. The company says not to even touch the food because you could become infected with salmonella! Pets with salmonella infections may have loss of appetite, fever and abdominal pain. Infected but healthy pets can be carriers and could infect other animals or humans. If your pet has consumed the recalled product and has these symptoms, please contact your veterinarian now!
