"Dexter," Season 6, Episode 11, "Talk to the Hand" starts with the folks at Miami Homicide finding the aftermath at Travis' boat. It ends with the tables turned decisively against Dexter, who may have met a predator more powerful than him.
Spoilers follow.
With Homeland Security now involved, with the discovery of poison gas, all is in chaos. Beth, the surviving acolyte of Travis's doomsday cult, infiltrates the Miami Homicide station with a gas bomb backpack and Batista's key card. Proving that the Internet can be one's friend, Dexter finds out who she is seconds before she detonates the gas attack, pushing her into a sealed interrogation room, saving many lives, including that of his sister Debra.
This causes Debra's shrink to suggest that she has inappropriate feelings toward Dexter, her non-biological step brother. She hotly denies it, of course, but then proceeds to have sex dreams about him.
To further mess her up, Laguerta throws Matthews under the bus, revealing his involvement in the call girl's death. Laguerta will now move into the assistant chief's position, which means Debra is now in ever bigger trouble.
Quinn, in the meantime, sobers up enough to save Batista from being burned alive by Travis. Quinn is still in big trouble, though.
Dexter decides to take matters into his own hands and arranges a tableau of his own, involving an angel statue and the Geller's dismembered hand. The idea is that Dexter is now The Beast of the Book of Revelations. Travis would thus be lured into coming after Dexter who would ambush him and then deal with him in his own way.
Things go horribly wrong. The effects of the gas attack arises with a nose bleed and dizziness at exactly the wrong time. It is Travis who subdues Dexter.
Dexter awakes in a boat in the middle of the ocean, surrounded by cans of gasoline. Travis, in a boat, pours the last of some more gasoline in the water around Dexter. Cackling about throwing the Beast into the Lake of Fire, Travis tosses in a match and drives away.
Fortunately Dexter escapes the conflagration in a nick of time. It's on now.
