Recap 'Survivor Nicaragua' Episode 10

As 'Survivor Nicaragua' episode 10 began there were only ten contestants remaining.

Back at camp following tribal council Sash and Brenda felt the thrill of being in control of the game. They successfully eliminated Marty and were free and clear to call all the shots. Their headiness was short-lived.

Tribal council left Jane and Holly feeling insecure about their positions and ready to make a move to either build a strong alliance or get themselves booted. In their estimation it was time for something to give. Holly started rousing players to get rid of Sash and Brenda. She worked on Chase and Benry, while Jane worked on NaOnka to get rid of Brenda. In turn, NaOnka worked on Fabio to vote Brenda off.

It began to look like the grand alliance between Sash and Brenda was in trouble.

Chase is the most wishy-washy player. He had one foot in two alliances. He is allied with Jane and Holly, but also with Brenda and Sash. He is not reliable and liable to flip-flop on either alliance at any time.

Meanwhile at the camp...

It was a stormy day so everyone worked together to move the chests containing their supplies around the fire. They wanted to keep the fire going, but it was a dumb move to which no one protested. It resulted in the chests going up in flames.

In the first challenge contestants were to use 4 planks, 2 barrels, and ropes to work their way across the beach without touching the ground. For the contestants were divided into two teams of five.

Chase, Kelly, NaOnka, Fabio, and Jane were on the blue team. Chase came up with a strategy early on and got his team on the move.

Sash, Holly, Brenda, Dan, and Benry made up the yellow team. The yellow team had to contend with Dan's injuries and they fell on their way across the beach and had to start over.

The reward was a trip to a volcano for volcano surfing, but most importantly to the team they won pizza, brownies, and soft drinks.

While the tribe was away on the reward challenge their supplies were burned up by the fire. The yellow team were the first team to find it, right after they had lost the reward challenge. The tribe was completely disillusioned. Everything at the camp was ruined.

Chase went straight back to camp and told Brenda the plan to vote her off. He cannot be trusted. He then turned around and told NaOnka that he told Brenda about the plan.

NaOnka used Chase's wishy-washiness to go to Benry, convinced him that Chase wanted him out and got him to side with Jane and Holly to vote off Brenda.

NaOnka told every other member of their alliance that Chase could not be trusted. By the time for the immunity challenge the lines were clearly drawn. Chase, Brenda, and Sash were allied against the rest of the camp.

The second challenge was a battle for immunity. Contestants leaned back over water holding on to a rope. They were to hold on as long as they could until they fell into the water.

Sash was the first one in the water followed by Kelly. Holly fell in third, followed by Brenda and Dan. Next Fabio fell. NaOnka dropped next, but that didn't matter much since she still holds an immunity idol.

Jane, Chase, and Benry were the last three struggling to hold on for immunity. Benry fell before Chase and Jane.

Chase tried to psych Jane into letting go, and she almost did. She was encouraged to hang on a little longer and Chase fell before her.

Jane out lasted all the younger players and won personal immunity, again. She credited holding and clipping her 80lb dogs for the strength to hang in there for the immunity challenge.

Back at camp strategizing continued.

Chase, Sash, and Brenda wanted to vote Benry off.

NaOnka told Sash that everyone was going to vote Brenda off, which wasn't too smart considering Sash's loyalty to Brenda, but Sash saw his opportunity to stay in the game threatened by Brenda's position.

Chase ran straight to Brenda and told her that they were going to vote her off. This set Brenda on Sash, who cannot be trusted. He has already broken his word to Marty in this game. He was obviously torn between giving his immunity idol to Brenda or keeping it to save his own hide later in the game.

By the time tribal council came around all alliances were in question.

Brenda and Sash confessed their newfound vulnerability in the game.

Brenda used her opportunity to talk to call out NaOnka. NaOnka ran her mouth fast and strong, as usual, to push the blame back on Chase for loosing his cool, but Brenda was still in the hot seat.

Sash had a immunity idol. It was obvious that Brenda expected him to give it to her, but he didn't.

Brenda was voted off 'Survivor Nicaragua.' Although it was an overwhelming vote, Brenda blamed her position on NaOnka. As it turned out everyone voted Brenda off except Kelly, who voted for Benry.
