Recap of True Blood, Season 3, Episode 4 - "9 Crimes"
What Happened on True Blood Season 3, Episode 4?
The latest episode of True Blood season three, "9 Crimes," begins with Sookie giving first aid to Alcide after the fight at the were bar. They discuss the issue of werewolves consuming V - vampire blood. Sookie questions Alcide about Debbie - his ex-fiancee. A meaningful look and a moment of chemistry pass between the two but it is interrupted by Sookie's cell phone - it is Bill.
Bill is with Lorena and he tells Sookie that he is leaving Bon Temps. . .and Sookie. Sookie disputes what Bill says but he tells her that he is with Lorena and they have just had sex -he did not hold back for fear of hurting Lorena as he had done with Sookie. Sookie begins to cry and Bill tells her she is no longer of concern to him - "Do not try to find me, I do not wish to be found," and hangs up. Bill's eyes are dead and his face emotionless.
Sookie is crying and questioning Alcide about what Bill meant by his words. Sookie is sure that this is completely out of character for Bill. Sookie leans in for an offered hug and notices how warm Alcide here - she is not used to it. Another meaningful look passes between them.
At Merlotte's, Sam runs outside looking for his brother. He finds his parents' van in the parking lot, where they are sleeping. His mother tells him that they have nowhere else to go - they are behind on rent. Sam surmises this is why they came there - to rob him but his mother insists that is not the case.
At Sookie's house, Franklin Mott is questioning Tara. He wants to know about Sookie - her relationship with Bill, her brother Jason, and most specifically - where she is.
In Jackson, Tara calls Sookie. She is speaking words that Franklin gives her to say - insisting that she should come to Jackson. Sookie doesn't want company and Tara manages to break Franklin's spell on her. She runs but Franklin meets her at the door - after overpowering her, he bites her and she screams.
Lorena is gloating over having Bill back but Bill is angry - and tired. She continues to needle him and receives a punch in the face that throws her out of the room. Bill closes the doors to her.
At Alcide's apartment, a flying Eric is outside the window - startling Sookie. He wants her to invite him in and she wonders if all vampires can fly. After entering the room, Sookie tells him that she has discovered that Bill was not who she wanted. She tells Eric he smells like the ocean in winter which Eric says is not possible. Sookie tells him she is sensing his memories of growing up near the North Sea and Eric is surprised. They begin to kiss - passionately. Sookie pushes him down on the bed then takes her robe off. She asks "You want more?" and Eric is startled from his "daydream" - he is watching Yvette but his mind is on Sookie.
Alcide is cooking breakfast. Sookie wants to face Bill. She suggests they go that night to Debbie's engagement party, which angers Alcide.
Lafayette calls Tara - he wants to show her his new car, but Tara is tied up - literally. Franklin has tied her onto the toilet in his hotel room. Her mouth is covered with duct tape and her cell phone is just out of reach.
Sookie answers a knock at Alcide's door - it is Alcide's sister Janice. She is supposed to transform Sookie to fit in at the party. Janice is thrilled with Sookie and hope Sookie can take her brother's mind off of his evil ex - Debbie Pelt. Sookie listens in on Janice's thoughts and learns a little more about Debbie's engagement part - it will be and initiation into Cooter's pack. Sookie also hears that Debbie is addicted to V. Sookie asks why Alcide stayed with Debbie so long - and Janice's words hit too close to home. Debbie was Alcide's first love and he stuck by her through everything she did to him.
At Merlotte's, Jason and Hoyt are hanging out, watching some younger men play pool. They are interrupted by Bud Dearborn's retirement party. Bud announces that Andy will be the new acting Sheriff. The other boys at the pool table are getting loud and Jason decides to put an end to their disrespect. Jason's secret weapon is confusion - and he is good at it. Arlene trips and begins crying as she complains about not having enough help and working too long.
Alcide arrives home to find a transformed Sookie - in slut gear, tattoos and black wig. Sookie tells him what she heard in Janice's mind about Debbie and Alcide is angry. He agrees to meet Sookie at the bar.
Bill and the King of Mississippi discuss Bill's work for the Queen of Louisiana. Bill has a request - in exchange for his loyalty: He wants Lorena "gone." Bill tells the King that Eric Northman has been selling vampire blood on behalf of the Queen. Russell is very interested in this information.
Franklin arrives back at the hotel. He asks Tara is she missed him and she is obviously terrified, and angry. He tells her could not stop thinking about her and ends with "We have so much ahead of us."
At Merlotte's, Sam is talking to his new waitress-in-training, Jessica. Arlene is overly emotional and almost lets slip that she is pregnant. Sam finds out that his family is grilling in the parking lot.
Someone from Jessica's past bumps into her - it is a young man from her Bible study.
Lafayette is in Hotshot - trying to sell V to Calvin Norris. Calvin tells him to leave - they don't want it. Lafayette hears someone at his car and he is made to see that the people of Hotshot don't want what he is selling.
Outside Merlotte's, Jessica is glamouring her old friend to make sure he doesn't remember seeing her. Hoyt overhears.
In Hotshot, Lafayette is being beat up when Eric is suddenly there, snatching Calvin by the throat. Calvin agrees that his relatives in Hotshot will sell V for him.
Franklin and Tara are in the car. Franklin is talking in soothing, happy tones. Tara is very upset and wants to know what is going on. Franklin's boss is very interested in Bill.
Sam finds his brother Tommy - naked and asleep out in the woods. Sam gives him some clothing and they talk. Tommy is very angry and wonders why Sam looked them up at all. Tommy feels responsible for his parents and tells Sam that he "won't be free of these people until the day they die."
Eric and Lafayette are driving and Eric says he is disappointed in Lafayette. Eric's phone rings - it is Pam. She tells him that Fangtasia is being raided - by the Magister. She tells Eric that he has been set up by the Queen. The Magister finds Pam in the basement and orders his men to take her. Eric rolls down the window of Lafayette's car and flies away - to Lafayette's consternation.
At Merlotte's, Jason hints to Andy that there must be an easier way for him to become a cop. Jason brings up the shooting of Eggs and hints that Andy would not like for anyone to find out that he falsified evidence.
Tommy and Sam approach their parents - who are angry at Tommy. Sam tells them he will give them a place to say and help them get on their feet, but no more stealing or drinking. They agree.
At the King of Mississippi's mansion, Franklin arrives with Tara. Talbot greets them, telling them Russell is out. He wonders if Tara is meant for him.
At the werewolf bar, Alcide and Sookie are separate, but Alcide is communicating with his mind. Sookie approaches the bar and is noticed by the man who mauled her the last time she was there. He muses in his head that she looks familiar. Sookie takes a few shots to blend in then is approached by Debbie Pelt, who demands to know who she is. Alcide arrives and announces that Sookie is there with him.
Bill is in a limousine with Lorena and Russell. Russell and Lorena discuss what "flavor" they are in the mood for. Russell orders Bill to go into a strip bar and procure a snack for them.
At Fangtasia, Pam is being tortured by the Magister. Eric arrives and stops the torture - telling the Magister that he was framed. The Magister wants to know who is behind the selling of V. The Magister continues torturing Pam and Pam shouts that Bill Compton was the one behind the selling of V. The Magister gives Eric two days to bring him proof or Pam will be staked.
At the were bar, Alcide and Debbie argue. Debbie turns her attention to Sookie, and Sookie tries to convince her to leave with Alcide. Debbie is unwilling and wants Alcide to stay and watch the initiation. The crowd gathers Debbie and carries her away - tearing her skirt off.
At the strip club, Bill eyes the women, looking for someone to please Russell and Lorena.
Debbie is passed by the crowd up to the stage where she is met by Russell. Alcide tells Sookie that Russell is an antiques dealer. Russell quiets the crowd. He bites his arm and drips blood into small cups that are passed around. He tells Debbie, "Not tonight pumpkin." The crowd becomes mad with celebration.
At the strip club, Bill has made his choice. He asks her name, but wants her real name. She gives him fake names. He glamours her and wants to know her real name (Ann) and about her family. She has no family and is full of sadness.
Debbie is branded on her shoulder, which increases the frenzy of the crowd. Cooter strips and transforms into a wolf. He licks Debbie's brand then howls. The others begin to transform - Alcide as well. Alcide yells, telling Sookie to run.
Bill senses Sookie's danger, but he must offer the stripper to Russell and Lorena. Russell asks Bill to join them, and after hesitating, he does. Blood drips from the door of the limousine.
