Recession-Proof Franchises

Finding a Franchise that Works

Nick Leja
Is going into business for yourself a good idea in this fragile economy?

In a weak economy, many businesses suffer. However, there are numerous recession-proof franchises that still thrive even in a weak economy. Recession-proof franchises offer products or services that are inelastic, meaning the demand for them does not fluctuate with the economy. Franchises that offer luxury products such as toys and expensive non-necessity products and services are not recession-proof franchises. However, there are many recession-proof franchises that do exist of which many are not aware.

Here are some industries that offer recession-proof franchises:

B2B

A myriad of recession-proof franchises exist in the Business-to-Business Industry as businesses continue to require the necessary services that allow them to operate. Recession-proof franchises in this industry offer services such as packaging & shipping, printing, website design, advertising, corporate training, ink refill, and more. Since businesses are all tightening their budget, the recession-proof franchises are the ones that offer these services at the lowest cost.

Car Maintenance & Repair

People are holding onto their cars longer now rather than purchasing new ones. Because of this, they must stay on top of the necessary maintenance and repairs to keep their automobiles in good condition. Local businesses that offer these services are another group of recession-proof franchises.

Child Care

If a child is struggling in school and requires tutoring to grasp the concepts, the parents will find a way to get that child tutoring, regardless of the economic condition. Recession-proof franchises in this industry will provide quality tutoring by qualified tutors at a low cost.

Damage Restoration

In addition, another industry offering recession-proof franchises is the Damage Restoration industry. Fire and floods will continue to cause damage to homes even in a down economy, so recession-proof franchises that offer restoration services will still thrive.

Senior Care

As the Baby Boomers age, the number of senior citizens requiring care is growing rapidly. Many seniors want the ability to live in their own home, so there is an increasing demand for senior care. The Senior Care Industry offers recession-proof franchises that provide these services to seniors in the comfort of their own home.

In the current economy, many people are losing money in their 401K and the stock market, are in fear of losing their jobs, and are nervous about their financial future. Recession-proof franchises offer a proven system with a high success rate to eliminate as much risk as possible.

As a franchise consultant, I have experience helping individuals find recession-proof franchises that meet their business, geographical, lifestyle, and financial goals. If you are considering going into business for yourself and would like some free professional advice regarding recession-proof franchises, feel free to send me a message. I am not a business broker and will never charge you any fees; I am paid by the franchises I represent, which include franchises in each of the above recession-proof industries.

While it is impossible to eliminate all risk when starting a business, even in recession-proof franchises, you should consider:

· What is your current return on investments?

· Are you dissatisfied with your career?

· Would you like to be in control of your own business?

· In 6 months from now, where will you be if you stay on your current path? Where will you be if you choose to invest in yourself and start one of the recession-proof franchises? Which future do you like more?

Great piece! Another great business to consider, that fairs well in all economic climates and spreads the business risk over multiple industries is bartering.

The MBE-bartering system is simple, cost-effective, and has a very high ROI. This certainly falls into the B2B criteria above. Why not make money in a recession and feel good about it, as you'll be helping your customers save thousands of dollars each and every year.

Just google Merchants Barter Exchange for more info. Again, great article!
