Even though my boys are growing up, I still continue to seek assistance and advice from my mom. I often wonder how I have been so lucky to have the love and support from her, especially since my teenage years probably seemed to drag on and on, with one drama after another. Maybe that is the biggest lesson I learned from my mom, is that being a mother doesn't stop. Not after you turn 18, not after you are married, and not after you have had children of your own.
I not only go to my mom for parenting advice, but financial or job worries, or even if I need advice about friendships. I can only hope for, is that years from now when my children are married and having children of their own, they will feel that they can come to me for advice or assistance. It's not important to me that they follow my advice or suggestions, but most important because I will continue to be a big part in their life, as my mom still continues to be a big part in my life.
