Recipe for Crockpot Make-ahead Breakfast

Wake Up to the Smell of Breakfast Cooking

Pat Burroughs
For years we've had a make-ahead breakfast on Christmas morning. I'll send in the recipe for it also, but here's a new one I just received. My son emailed it to me so I'll share it with you. I can't wait to try it myself. I know it's loaded with things that one should eat in moderation, but it shouldn't hurt much to eat it once a year--on Christmas.

Recipe:

Crockpot Breakfast Strata

12 eggs

1 cup milk

1/2 teaspoon dry mustard

salt and pepper

1 lb bacon, cut into small pieces -cooked and drained

1 (32 ounce) bag frozen hash brown potatoes

1/2 cup onions, diced

12 oz. shredded cheddar cheese

Layer the ingredients in your crockpot in this order.

1/2 of the potatoes- on the bottom.

1/2 of the bacon.

1/2 of the onions.

1/2 of the cheese.

potatoes.

bacon.

onions.

cheese.

Beat the eggs, milk, mustard, salt and pepper together. Pour this over the
whole mixture. Cook on low for 10 to 12 hours. 10 servings
