Recipe for Puppy Chow

A Treat for the Young at Heart

Pat Burroughs
When our church was making its cookbook, our youth director's wife contributed this recipe. She said her 7-year-old son had asked her if, when he got married, she would give this recipe to his wife so she could make it for him. People who like chocolate and peanut butter are bound to enjoy this treat.

Puppy chow

1 stick margarine
1 cup peanut butter
1 cup chocolate chips
9 cups (plus) Chex cereal (Rice or Corn)
3 cups powdered sugar

1 large clean paper bag

Melt and mix together the margarine, peanut butter, and chocolate chips. Put cereal in a huge container. Pour chocolate mixture on top of cereal. Stir to coat all pieces. Place powdered sugar in a large paper bag. Dump cereal mixture in bag and shake until well coated with powdered sugar. Store in an airtight container.
