1 pkg. taco seasoning
1 small jar salsa verde
1 cup water
9 flour tortillas
8 oz. sour cream

2 cups shredded cheddar cheese

Directions for Recipe: Tacosagne

1

In a skillet, sauté chopped onion in a small amount of olive oil until the pieces are somewhat translucent

As beef is browning, add chopped tomato to mixture and continue to cook

To form the second layer of the tacosagne, add preheated refried beans and sour cream, mix with a spoon and top with ½ bag of shredded cheese

10
Pour the remaining ground beef mixture on top of the tortillas and top with the remaining cheese
11
Bake in a preheated oven for 20-25 minutes
12
Allow five minutes for the tacosagne to cool and serve
Tip
Tacosagne can be a very versatile dish depending on your taste and imagination. Some suggestions on substitutions for making equally delicious variations on the above recipe include: substituting ground beef with ground chicken, ground turkey, steak tidbits or even shredded chicken, adding different types of peppers for color and spice, adding chopped olives, or changing up the cheeses with virtually any type of shredded cheese that will melt in the pan and in your mouth. If you’re not into refried beans, try cooking up some yellow Spanish rice for the middle layer. As you can see, tacosagne is simply a new spin on some very familiar flavors. If you love Mexican food, and you’re yearning for a new way to spice up your dinner table, try out either the main tacosagne recipe or change it up with one or more of the listed suggestions, or come up with your own. You’re going to love it!
