Recipe and Website Links for Men Who Want to Cook

If you are a man who likes to cook, but need some fresh ideas and a little guidance in the food department, read on. If you are a man who would love to prepare your date a wonderful meal, but have no clue where to begin, this article provides information and links to some fun websites for men that you will want to explore.

Easy Meal Ideas at AskMen.com

If sautéed lemon garlic chicken or chipotle shrimp kabobs sound impressive, but are really quite easy to prepare, then you want to visit AskMen.com. This site has an abundance of information geared to men covering health and sports, grooming, fashion and money, to name a few.

It also has a fabulous wine and dine section, which is where you will find "5 Easy Meals to Cook for Her." Along with five great recipes and simple directions on how to prepare them, you will also learn which wine to serve with all the recipes, including a yummy soy-glazed salmon. The article noted above was pulled from the extensive wine and dine archive.

Great Recipes and Guides at "Men in Aprons Cook"

Even though this website does not appear to be updated in quite some time, it is packed with terrific recipes, how-to guides and videos. Despite the lack of updating, which is a shame, it is a gem of a place for any man to go to get some cooking ideas.

You will find recipes for simple comfort food like meatloaf, but you will also find a recipe for "Grilled Pork Tenderloin with Tangy Guajillo Sauce," which is really comfort food, too, but with the added snap of guajillo pepper sauce.

If you want to appear to be an entertainment-savvy host, serve a sophisticated but fun drink. I bet a Raspberry Lemon Drop Martini (credit given to California Pizza Kitchen) would impress that special someone.

The how-to section alone is worth a visit. From caring for cast iron skillets to choosing the correct cutting board to "...reading and executing a recipe," you will find some great how-to articles. Dare to admit you cannot even boil water? Well, you will find a how-to guide that will enlighten you called, "Boiling Water: Beginners Guide." No, I am not kidding and it is quite an informative article to boot!

"Pairing Beer With Food" at mensjournal.com

In the dark about which beer to serve with sushi and what beer works best with spicy food? Look to David Ramsey's article "Pairing Beer with Food" in mensjournal.com. There is also an interesting article in the food and drink section called "Recipe-Free Fish Stew," which indeed does have a recipe, but is also a wonderful story about famed chef Paul Bartolotta and a lesson he learned years ago. It is a fabulous story to read and you really do learn how to make fish stew at the same time.

These recipe and website links should give you men out there plenty of creative ideas to get you going in the kitchen. If you want to impress a hot date or maybe just your mother-proudly put that apron on and get cooking with confidence.
