As much as the Ducks run the ball, 10 catches might be a tall order, but it's not completely out of the question. Maehl already has 10 catches in a game this season, in Oregon's 43-23 victory over Washington State on October 9, when he had 119 yards.
Maehl has eight catches in two different games in 2010 - for 145 yards in a 53-32 win over USC on October 30, and for 107 yards in a 60-13 victory over UCLA on October 21. He also has seven catches in two other games - against Washington and in the regular-season finale against Oregon State in Corvallis.
Heading into the national title game against Auburn in Glendale, Arizona, Maehl has 169 career receptions; Samie Parker is Oregon's career leader in catches with 178, from 2000 to 2003.
Parker is also the Ducks' career leader in receiving yardage, with 2,761 yards.
Heading into the BCS National Championship game, Maehl is in eighth place in career receiving yardage at Oregon with 2,178 yards. With 56 receiving yards against Auburn, Maehl would move into seventh place on the career list, ahead of Terry Obee, who had 2,233 yards from 1986 to 1989.
Cristin McLemore is next on the list, with 2,498 yards from 1992 to 1995.
