Recording Life with the Sony Handycam DCRSX41 Digital Camcorder

Great Quality in a Small Package

My wife and I had wanted a camcorder for quite a while, so we did a bit of looking around and finally found the Sony Handycam DCRSX41 Digital Camcorder at CompUSA for $279.99. When you consider that we had been seeing prices of over $500.00 for a decent camcorder, we feel like we got a good deal.

The Sony Handycam DCRSX41 Digital Camcorder has some very useful features. First of all it is small, and handy - hence the name Handycam! It is light, weighing only 10 ounces with the battery.

We have five cats, and they are always doing crazy, interesting things (at least to us) and we got the Sony Handycam DCRSX41 Digital Camcorder to document the craziness of sharing a house with five goofy cats. It may sound goofy to dote on our cats so much, but since our kids have grown up and moved away, the cats are our kids.

The Sony Handycam DCRSX41 Digital Camcorder can record up to six hours on its standard 8GB embedded memory. (This is on SD mode if you want to record on HQ mode, you get two hours.)You can buy a 16GB Stick Pro Duo, and get double the recording time.

The Sony Handycam DCRSX41 Digital Camcorder comes with an A/C adapter, the rechargeable battery, a USB cable, an AV cable (to connect to your TV) and the application software CD.

What we usually do is use the Sony Handycam DCRSX41 Digital Camcorder to record in HQ and make sure to upload to our computer on a regular basis. Most often we do that right after we get done taping something the cats are doing.

If you are shooting inside, the 2.7 inch screen on the Sony Handycam DCRSX41 Digital Camcorder is great. You can see what you are doing just fine. However it doesn't really work too well outside in sunlight. We don't actually do much recording outside, but for someone who does, this camcorder might not work for you.

Another great function of the Sony Handycam DCRSX41 Digital Camcorder is the One touch Disc Burn. Hook up the camcorder to your PC and open up the software, and you can easily burn a DVD of your footage.

We had never used a camcorder before, and we soon found that the Sony Handycam DCRSX41 Digital Camcorder makes it easy for the newcomer. To turn on the camera to begin taping, all you have to do is open the LCD viewer, and voila, the camcorder is on. You don't have to fumble for the on switch. Just point and shoot.

The Sony Handycam DCRSX41 Digital Camcorder is a great buy for anyone like us who want an inexpensive camcorder that is easy to use.
