Recurring Listlessness

Harold Dean Sink
It is night again,
Must be my best friend
Since the daytime slips away
Before I ever hit the hay.

I keep trying not to stay up late.
It is really not the day I hate.
Seem to have more energy now.
Morning will come soon. How...

Will I muster myself up?
Hot coffee in a cup?
I don't think so
Since coffee is a no.

Exercise and vitamins will do
After breakfast and jujitsu.
Hah! That's funny to think
Since I'd rather wash my face in the sink.

Another day has come,
And yet I sit here wishing it was done.
The weekend I seek
For time lost during the week.

Maybe more will get done
Before I go back to work on Monday morn.
Pray for me as I do for all of you.
That is what holds us together as glue.
