Recycle with Freecycle
"Our Mission is to Build a Worldwide Gifting Movement that Reduces Waste, Saves Precious Resources & Eases the Burden on Our Landfills While Enabling Our Members to Benefit from the Strength of a Larger Community."
Each local Freecycle group is moderated by a local volunteer. Membership is absolutely free. To sign up for Freecycle go to their web site at www.Freecycle.org and click on the region you live in. Then you can go to your local group by clicking on "Go To". After that, you will receive an automatic e-mail with instructions on how exactly Freecycle works and what their rules are. If their is no local group near you, you may want to look into starting one on your own and start the Freecycling in your area. Trust me, it catches on quick.
Their is only a few rules for Freecycling: 1. Everything must be free! 2. Everything must be legal! And 3. Everything must be appropriate for all ages. Non-profit organizations also benefit from Freecycle. Post something you want to give away and specify that you would like it to go to a non-profit cause. The best thing of all is it's completely up to you on what you want to do. The only thing you can't give away is anything pornographic, alcohol, drugs (of any sort illegal or not), and no firearms or weapons. You only get two strikes before your kicked out of the group so I highly advise to follow the rules. Along with what you can't give away, you can't post the same "wanted" ad twice in one month. Greedy people are not looked upon nicely. You also have to give away stuff in order to post "wanted's". It's all about giving a little bit in return.
Like one of Freecycles many motto's "Think globally, recycle locally". Freecycle is open to all communities and to anyone who wants to join. This is a great organization that helps cut back on waste. Why throw something away that someone else may be able to use? Their motto is "Our mission is to build a worldwide gifting movement that reduces waste, saves precious resources & eases the burden on our landfills while enabling our members to benefit from the strength of a larger community." I think that sums it up perfectly.
