I found at BestBuy.com the following recycling information for recycling electronics including recycling TV's:
Best Buy stores will recycle: TVs, DVD players, computer monitors, cell phones and more. As stated on their web site: "You can bring in up to two items a day, per household, and most things are absolutely free. However, there is a $10 charge for TVs 32" and under, CRTs, monitors and laptops - but we'll give you a $10 Best Buy gift card to offset that cost."
It was easy to recycle the old monster of a TV...
- Load it on my truck (that was the hard part)
- Pull up to the door of the Best Buy Store,
- Ask the folks inside to send someone with a 'dolly' outside to help unload the TV,
- Go to customer service,
- Tell them I need to recycle a TV,
- Pay them $10 (it was under 32 inches) and
- Receive a $10 Best Buy gift card
Mission accomplished without a lot of hassle! I like things that are easy!
