Instead of tossing all those used gift tags you can use them to create a colorful and fun Christmas wreath that will remind you of holidays gone by.
To Make a Christmas Wreath From Christmas Gift Tags You Will Need:
Tons of tags
Scissors
Ribbon or floral wire
Coat hanger or old wreath form
Paint (optional)
To get started making your Christmas wreath craft you will need to start collecting your Christmas gift tags. Go for all shapes and sizes.
I personally like to leave the tags as is, but you can spray paint them green. If you use the Christmas tags as is to make the wreath then you will get a mostly white, with mixes of colors wreath.
If not, simple lay the gift tags out on some newspaper. Lightly spray them green and let them dry.
Flip them over and then spray again. This will give you a more traditional looking Christmas wreath.
Now, you need a simple wire coat hanger or an old hay wreath form. If you are using the hanger cut it open.
Bend the hanger into a circle and twist the ends together.
Now, cut a bunch of ribbons or floral wire to about 6 to 8 inches long.
Slip one ribbon through the existing hole in the gift tag, then tie it onto the front of the wreath form. Continue this process until the wreath is full of tags and filled out.
If your gift tags do not have holes in them a simple hole punch will work fine.
If you do not wan tot wait to collect enough Christmas sift tags to make the wreath, then try cutting tag shapes out of colored card stock. Punch the holes and add hole protectors.
Now, proceed as before.
If you are lucky enough to come across some vintage wall paper, then those make awesome wreaths. Vintage postal paper or envelopes are also awesome. This is a fun way to create a shabby chic or vintage Christmas wreath out of left over or damaged materials.
Simply cut out the good pieces of the paper and use those to make the Christmas wreath. You can create any color you want!
