To Make this Recycled Craft Plastic Bowling Game You Will Need:
Plastic 1 Liter Bottles
Paint
Red Tape or Paint
Paint Brushes
Rolling Ball
To get started you will need 10 empty 1 liter or similar sized plastic Coke bottles. Plastic bottles are perfect for this since they will not break like glass. This is also a way to keep them out of the land fills.
Now, go ahead and strip off any wrappers on the plastic drink bottles. You can use ammonia or Windex type precuts to help get anything sticky off of them. Once they are free of labels you then want to wash them. Simply run some soapy water in each bottle and shake to clean. Pour out and rinse.
Once those bottles are dry have the kids look in the garage or where ever you store you leftover house paints.
Any house paint color will work for this, so try to use up anything left in the paint cans so it does not end up in a land fill as well. Take the paint and pour some into each bottle. Swirl the bottle around the inside of the bottle to completely coat it.
Once the inside is coated you want to let this sit and dry. You can keep the lids and paint them as well on the outside. The lids are not necessary, but they do make this recycled craft look more finished.
Now, once any paint is dried on your new bowling pins you want to add the fun stripes on the outside. Do this right about one inches from the top of the bottles turned bowling pins.
You can use left over paint, markers, paint pens, or veen glue and ribbon. This is another time to use up old craft materials that have been laying around.
Once the stripes have been added t your recycle bowling pins, then you are finished.
Tip: A really fin touch for this bowling ball game is to take an old plastic bouncing ball or whatever plastic ball you have and paint it black. This will make it look like an old timey bowling ball, which were in most cases black.
Set your bowling pins up and have hours of fun with this recycled craft.
