If you have been looking for Easter Day activities for the whole family, this is a fun one!
To Make an Easter Bunny Checkers Game you Will Need:
Empty Yogurt Containers
Pom Poms
Glue
Google eyes
Fun Foam
Scissors
Foam Core Boards (2)
To get started you want to take 20 empty yogurt cups and turn them into Easter Bunnies. To do this use pink or white pom poms from the craft store. Glue them on to each empty yogurt container to make the bunny bodies.
Turn the cup upside own and cover completely in little white or pink pom poms. Glue on Ears that you cut out of fun foam.
Tip: To stand the ears up easily before you glue on the pom poms you want to make two slits in the top of the container (the original bottom). The ears can be slid in and the pom poms added.
Add googly eyes with more glue. You can use another red or darker pink pom to make the nose. Leather strings also make great whiskers. Fun foam in white can be cut out for teeth!
Now, on to the chicks. You wan to glue on yellow pastel pom poms to each cup, covering them just like you did the Easter Bunnies fo the checkers game.
Add the Google eyes, a orange beak cut out of orange fun foam, and use that shoe string leather ot make the feet!
While the glue is drying on the aster Bunny checkers game pieces you can move on to the checkers board.
Measure how wide the mouth of the empty yogurt containers are.
You want each square in the checkers board to be this wide. Each board is 10 spaces by 10 spaces.
Cut out one large sheet to this size. Cut out smaller pastel sheets of foam core board to the size of mouth on the yogurt cans. Glue onto he board to create the staggered tile look found on all checker boards!
You are finshed! Kids will love this oversized Easter Bunny checker board. It is a fun way to have a great time together as a family. All the glue dries really fast, so once the board is made you can pretty much start playing checkers. This is a fun way to find a fun family activity for Easter.
