Hillary Marshall
When most people think of recycling, they think of paper. In the United States almost half the trees cut are used in paper production. In reality that is just scratching the surface, because the amount of trees cut world wide for paper production is staggering. Paper recycling is rapidly increasing and the availability of recycled paper products is better than ever. When you buy recycled paper your not only helping save trees, but your contributing to the pursuit of cleaner air.

Many stores are now carrying recycled paper products. Not only can you purchase recycled paper for your office, you can now by recycled paper products for your kitchen and bathroom. When you are buying paper products look for labels like PCF or processed chlorine free or post consumer waste or PCW. You can also look for paper made of virgin grade woods and there are also papers that are made tree free.

Marcal brand products all meet or surpass EPA guidelines for recycled content. Not only are they processed chlorine free, but they are also utilizing post consumer waste. Marcal has an extensive product line for your home that includes, paper towels, napkins, tissues and toilet paper. When you are buying for your office, consider using Mohawk paper. Mohawk's products are made from post consumer waste and are available in office stores nationwide. Ampad's Envirotech brand sold at Office Depot is also made from recycled paper. Additionally, Staples office supply stores sells a wide variety of recycled paper products.

Tree free paper products are also available now nationwide. Tree free paper products are made from alternative materials like bamboo, hemp, kenaf, refuse, discarded jeans and many other resources. Although, many environmentalist prefer the use of PCW or post consumer waste products, tree free products are a viable option. Many find the appearance of these papers to be attractive for use as stationary or gift wrap.

When purchasing paper looking at the packaging is very important. In addition to looking for the PCF or PCW labels there are other things you can look for. Looking for products that are Green Seal certified is wise. Green Seal is a non-profit organization that test, than endorses paper products that pass their high standards for quality. Recycled and alternative papers are just as good as their less environmentally friendly counterparts. Converting to them in conjunction with continued recycling of them will surely make your household more environmentally friendly.
