Red Alert 3: Strategies and Tactics to Win the Game

Shawn Thomas
Red Alert 3 is a game hailing from the Command and Conquer Series and Made by Electronic Arts for the PC. Red Alert 3 features three sides: the Soviets, the Allies, and the Empire of the Rising Sun. Each side has its own unique strategies, strengths, and weaknesses. I will discuss some of my favorite strategies and thoughts on each side for Red Alert 3.

The Allies:

The Allies have a very strong air unit which consists of vindicators. Commonly, players of Red Alert Three, will encounter a vindicator rush online when playing. What an allied player is typically doing is building an airfield right away. They then build a few vindicators and finish building their 2 ore refineries. The best strategy is to build your power plant and airfield on the outside and next to the ore mine and ore refinery so to block it. This will keep the any spiders sent by soviet players and other rushes designed to take out the ore collector at bay. You can then build a wall around your other ore refinery. You will want to build all four vindicators and attack key buildings and units of your enemy. These include any engineers scouting for oil derricks, base defenses, and ore collectors. It is also ideal to build a barracks and build some attack dogs to scout and take out enemy attack dogs and infantry.

The Soviets:

The Soviets are my favorite side to play and I consider being a strong race, especially in the late game. The Soviets are best when you can fend off the enemy early and then build later. Therefore, you will end up playing on the defensive quite frequently as a Soviet player. A good build order includes a power plant, a barracks, two ore refineries, a super reactor, and a war factory. The infantry units are actually pretty good, but if you want some early spiders you could build the war factor sooner. The super reactor allows you to build hammer tanks which can be massed and overwhelm an enemy in the medium stages. In addition the super reactor allows you to build the telsa coil which is in my opinion the best base defense in the game. In the early game you will want to build air defense and a lot of flak troppers if playing an allied player. You can also build an airfield and build some counter air units. Even though many players think an Allied Vindicator Rush is unfair, a good Soviet player can easily stop it and beat the Allied Player. Another great tactic is to put flak troopers in your chopper and transfer them to any enemy ore refinery that may be walled or blocked with buildings. In addition building 3 or 4 spiders for 600 dollars and sending them at ore collectors can disable them early.

The Empire of the Rising Sun:

I rarely ever play the Empire and thus I do not know much about them. They are good at stopping spiders from any Soviet player and can also be powerful against an Allied player. If you have a good Empire strategy feel free to share in the comments.

I use Empire and basically build for defense fast, then upgrade upgrade upgrade and then only build fire angels and the helicopter (forget the name)

I think dojo rush is not so brilliant to be used in large map.. try to control early game by building a complete combination of armored and infantry division.. you dont need to worry about your resources because you can easily unfurl your refinery cores in any ore mines.. During the mid game reduce building units.. upgrade all your dojo, mechabay and docks..then start creating rocket angels, wave force artillery and sea wings:) i tried this and i didn't had a problem beating brutal computer AI's

a bear o ayyack dog can easil take out the dojo rush just make them yell!!! And shoguns are useless against moving targets and can't attack close up, so it's prety easy to destroy them...

Its quite hard to do a dojo rush especially if the map is large. Usually when playing empire I just shower my units all over the map then strike with hit and run tactics.

When i play as the Empire i try a dojo rush... you actually build 2 dojos and unpack the outside the enemys base then you start pumping out maybe 15 infantry/tankbusters from each and storm his base.

I am new in RedAlert 3 and i like the empire! They have the best robots i like camping in the base until i got strong force and then bombard the enemy to death! Soviets are good and Allies are good too! Shotguns shotguns and shotguns always 9 bullets in the head from once:D joke!

the empire is my fav. i can beat the comp on brutal by rushing with a task force of 3 shoguns and 5 aircraft. just focus on getting that shipyard n upgrading it then build them craft. meanwhile defend your base with stationarys or rocket angels. if u lack resoures then build everythinh in the water then wen u start producing shoguns move ya mcv in the water as well. dont worry ur shoguns will blast the hell out of any forces.
