I'm in my junior year of high-school sitting in my Cross-Country coach's classroom. A man comes in with a briefcase and sample products. He places a paper cup on my desk. That's odd. The man then went into a speech about running and focusing and energy. Still chatting, he poured a yellowish liquid into my paper cup. "Wouldn't it be nice if you had an advantage during that race or upcoming exam"? I nodded in agreement. He gestured for me to take a sip of the mystery beverage, and so I did. To my surprise it was actually quite tasty. I felt a little rush as it gushed along my taste buds. He continued his lecture. A little time passed and he interrupted himself to ask how I felt. I wasn't as tired, I felt a little rejuvenated. It may have been my imagination, his sermon, or maybe that stuff actually worked! To this day I still don't know what the mystery beverage was but I have a strong suspicion that was in fact the very same product you can now purchase in that blue and silver can.
Like any substance, especially those containing caffeine, Red Bull can be very addictive. Be it the taste or the fact that it really does "give you wings" I, for one, am hooked. Red Bull is an energy drink that really works. It supplies tired minds and exhausted bodies with vital substances that have been lost. It provides immediate energy and vitamins. Red Bull also speeds up the metabolism, helping you to lose weight.
Red Bull is an energy drink produced only in Austria. From there it is shipped world-wide. You can expect the same Red Bull in France as you would in Mexico except for a few different vitamins due to national regulations. Some main ingredients include Taurine, Caffeine, Glucuronolactone, and B-group vitamins. Another main ingredient in Red Bull is Glucose or sugar.
Taurine
This amino acid occurs naturally in the body. It is removed from the body very quickly in certain times of high stress or physical activity, and is difficult for the body to replenish quickly. It is important to have Taurine in our body because it helps remove harmful substances by detoxification.
Caffeine
Caffeine is found in coffee, tea and chocolate. It has been shown to improve reaction speed, alertness and concentration. Caffeine also stimulates fat-burning during endurance activities. One can of Red Bull contains almost the same amount of caffeine as a cup of coffee. You can use this as a guide to how much you should consume in one day or sitting.
Glucuronolactone
Again it is naturally occurring in the human body and involved in detoxification process, helping the body in eliminating waste. Glucuronolactone is a carbohydrate and is also found in red wine and grains. Carbohydrates give you energy, making Glucuronolactone a very effective ingredient in an energy drink.
Vitamin B
These vitamins play an important role in metabolism. B vitamins are shown to increase mental and physical performance.
Try drinking red Bull whenever you need a boost of energy. It is best to drink one full can 30 minutes before the needed kick. It can be a useful tool in keeping drivers awake on long stretches of highway or to students who need to concentrate on exams. Even athletes have turned to Red Bull to assist them before the big game. Red Bull Energy Drink is the first company to successfully complete all requirements of the NSF Athletic Banned Substances Certification Program and is recommended by the MLB. WARNING! Red Bull is not an adequate form of hydration. It is important that you drink plenty of water during times of intense exercise to prevent de-hydration.
Red Bull Sugarfree is Red Bull without all the sugar. Instead it is replaced by sweeteners and contains only 10 calories per can. Red Bull and Red Bull Sugarfree are both functional products. Both supply the following benefits: improved performance, stimulates the metabolism, increase in concentration, and improves reaction speed. In 2006, more than three-billion cans were sold in over 130 countries. Red Bull is enjoyable whether you use it to gain an advantage on the competition, stay awake, or just simply to have a good time.
