Red Flame Pizzeria Opens in Lincoln Park

I was anticipating the opening of the Red Flame Pizzeria, located at 2417 North Clybourne in the Lincoln Park neighborhood of Chicago. I usually travel to the Lincoln Park on a weekly basis and am always in the market for a new restaurant. Driving down Clybourne, I wasn't expecting this place to be opened, because the many times I drove past, it was still closed. When we saw that it was opened, my friend and I quickly parked and decided to have lunch there.

I will say that many of the pizza menu items were a little sophisticated for my taste, including the chicken, rosemary and potato pizza. We ended up ordering the Margherita pizza, although this wasn't my first choice. I only ordered it because my friend was looking forward to it so much. The pizza was a delicious, simple combination of fresh mozzarella cheese, basil and olive oil. The sauce was so fresh and a little on the sweet side, and the crust was crispy and baked just right.

We also ordered ceasar salads which were delicious, but the finishing touch was the dessert pizza. We got the pizza topped with chocolate, strawberries and powdered sugar. The flavors were light, fresh and rich, all at the same time.
