Many "red" medicinal herbs have amazing health benefits and uses. Check out some of the most common medicinal herbs that proudly hail "red" as part of their name.

Red bay; red laurel

The bark of the magnolia plant is used as a medicinal herb as an antiperiodic, aromatic, astringent, diaphoretic, febrifuge, stimulant and tonic.

Red bearberry

The leaves of the uva ursi plant are used for bladder and kidney infections, Bright disease, constipation, diabetes, gonorrhea, nephritis, spleen disorders, urethritis, and uterine ulcerations.

Red bush tea

The leaves and stems of the red bush tea plant are used as free radical scavengers. It is also being investigated for use as an antineoplastic and for preventing brain damage caused by aging.

Red clover

The flowering red clover herb is used for blood cleansing, bronchitis, cancer, clearing toxins, nervous disorders, and spasms.

Red currant

The leaves and fruit of the currant plant are used as a diaphoretic and diuretic.

Red elm
