A red prickly rash can be a very frustrating condition to deal with, especially when you don't have any idea of what to do. There are many photos depicting heat rash wish large red bumps that are sometimes frightening to viewers. The size of these bumps vary depending on the person and their individual condition. Heat rash starts to develop on the skin when the sweat ducts begin to get blocked up and congested; this in turn leads to perspiration getting trapped under the skin and certain symptoms such as red bumps popping up. Those who spend a lot of time in the heat have probably experienced this type of rash to one extent or another.

Sometimes the red bumps can turn into deep red lumps that are difficult to treat and often painful. One of the best ways to relieve the swelling and pain is to prevent your skin from sweating too much. Staying cool is essential for anyone who has heat rash. When you take a look at some of the pictures of those who have had heat rash, you will see a variety of symptoms, some of them quite severe. You will be able to get an idea of just how bad this condition can get if the proper treatment is not given right away.

While it is true that heat rash tends to go away on its own after a while, you will still want to know what you can do about the symptoms while they are present and also how to prevent this condition altogether. Those who often run or exercise in the heat want to stay as hydrated as possible, because when you sweat too much those glands can become too packed full of perspiration and a rash can form. The bumps that form of your skin may burn and/or sting and sometimes they are painful to the touch. There can be a prickly texture which is important to recognize when trying to figure out which treatment might be best for what you have.

Having a heat rash is definitely not pleasant, so you will want to take all of the precautions you can to prevent or treat it if you find that one has already developed somewhere on your body. Usually they appear in spots that have been covered with tight clothing, such as under a hat, shirt, or pants. These rashes will only get worse without treatment before they get better. While they will run their course, you will still be able to get relief through cooling, oatmeal baths and using cornstarch. Remember to avoid letting the sweat build up and wear clothing that breathes.
