Red Robin Gourmet Burgers in Towson, MD: Restaurant Review

Robert Borden
With the proliferation of fast food restaurants in most American cities, it can be pretty difficult to find a good-quality, tasty hamburger these days. Sometimes a fast food burger hits the spot, but other times you want a burger that has some more substance and just tastes better. Most restaurants offer some kind of a hamburger on their menu, but it can take some looking around to find a restaurant that really, truly knows how to make a great hamburger. Because of this, I fell in love with the Red Robin restaurant concept pretty much the first time that I ever stepped foot inside one of their locations. Red Robin is a casual-dining chain that offers sit-down service with a menu that primarily focuses on hamburgers....pretty much any kind of burger that you would want. I used to live in Owings Mills, MD and was a frequent patron of the Red Robin location there, but recently I moved to a different city and decided to give the Red Robin location in Towson, Maryland a try.

The Red Robin Gourmet Burger location in Towson, MD is on Putty Hill Avenue, and is conveniently located in the Towson Place shopping center near the Target and PetSmart stores. The Towson Red Robin seems like it is an average-size for one of the restaurant chain's locations, and the parking lot is small but adequate, so you should never have trouble finding a parking space. I've been to the Red Robin in Towson a few times, and I have never had to wait for a seat...the location seems big enough that they usually operate without any wait for tables. This particular Red Robin is non-smoking (as are all restaurants in the state of Maryland), however there is a bar area for those who wish to dine alone or just stop in for a few drinks. This Red Robin location does have a full-service bar with a complete selection of beers, wines, and spirits.

The Red Robin in Towson, MD offers a full menu which primarily focuses on burgers, but also has a variety of pasta, chicken, and seafood selections for those diners who may want something different. Red Robin is vegetarian-friendly, and any burger on the menu can be made with your choice of a Boca or Gardenburger patty. All burgers and most sandwiches are served with "bottomless fries," so if you run out of french fries on your plate, your waiter or waitress will bring you more free of charge. A small dessert menu is also available for diners looking to satisfy their sweet tooth.

In my experience, I've found the service at the Towson, MD Red Robin location to be somewhat lacking. Although I am usually seated quickly, it seems that the restaurant is frequently understaffed and I am forced to wait for a server to visit my table to take my drink order. Although the service is a little slow, I have never been disappointed with the food...my burgers always come out fast, piping hot, and tasting absolutely delicious. This Red Robin location is moderately priced, and you should expect to pay between $20 and $30 for a meal for two (more if you want alcoholic beverages). This price range places Red Robin in line with other Towson restaurants like Applebee's and T.G.I. Friday's.

Overall, if you're in Towson, Maryland and looking for a good burger, I would recommend checking out the Red Robin Gourmet Burger restaurant. The location is nice and the service is adequate for what you pay. Red Robin in Towson is open seven days per week and serves a complete lunch and dinner menu. The restaurant is located at 1238 Putty Hill Avenue, Towson, MD 21286, and the restaurant can be reached by calling (410) 823-4224. If you'd like to check out the menu, or just need more information about Red Robin restaurants, check out the corporate website listed in the resources section of this article.

Love, love Red Robin's burgers. I am on their email list and get their specials. My husband and I half one and with the "bottom-less" fries, it's a meal. Excellent review. Thanks.
