Red Staters Believed that Hussein was Responsible for 9/11

The GOP Propaganda Machine Could Make Them Believe that War is Peace

Now our dear lost souls believe that Obama is a Muslim. One of the arguments goes that relatives of his were so he must be also. My mother was a woman. I'm not, nor never was. My father was 5 feet 7 inches. At one point I was also that height but I grew to 6 feet 2 inches. Does that mean that since I was at 1 point 5 feet 7 inches that I am 5 feet 7 inches?

Not only have the right-wing misinformation purveyors rammed this lie down the red staters apathetic minds an article they have fabricated blames Obama for this sorry state of affairs.

The article "Obama has himself to blame for Muslim problem" introduces the most amazing set of false premises ever to blame Obama-the victim, for having caused this mess.

Suppose a person is sitting at a red light and gets rear ended. Is that person responsible for another driver's mistake? In this article, by a trusted member of the GOP propaganda machine, the victim is responsible.

The article uses Obama's memoir Dreams From My Father, his Cairo speech to the Muslim world and other speeches and actions as background. It cherry picks sentences that Obama has written and said out of context to allege that Obama intentionally made his religion confusing.

Didn't Bush 43 attempt to placate moderate Muslims? Why then wasn't he considered to be a Muslim?

If W hadn't misspoken-a common happening with that fool, and called the everlasting war against terrorism a Crusade, then Obama wouldn't have to make his Cairo speech.

The article states "A new poll by the Pew Forum on Religion and Public Life shows that 18 percent of Americans believe Obama is a Muslim. That is up from the 12 percent who believed that in October 2008, just before Obama was elected president."

My thoughts on this mirror those of the "Gone with the Wind" star Clark Gable who said "Frankly I don't give a damn"! A person's religion-including whoever happens to be president, should be a concern for the US citizens. It shouldn't be, but the GOP has made it into a wedge issue to attract right-wing extremist religious fanatics.

The article states "The White House blames the situation on a "misinformation campaign" from Obama's opponents."

The article admits that FOX and Clear Channel radio are GOP propaganda organs as it states "Many people do not pay close attention to news reports...

Pew asked respondents how they learned about Obama's religion. Most who believe Obama is a Muslim say they learned it through the media. But 11 percent say they learned it through Obama's "own words and behavior."

Red staters have been lied to and accept the lies they hear from the GOP propaganda machine. The GOP realizes that segment of our society respond to hate and fear mongering.

The article "Fox News Comes Out of the Closet" notes FOX is a GOP propaganda source.

The article states "Fox News finally made it official. They are part and parcel of the Republican Party. They are now the largest donors to the Republican Governors Association, having given them $1 million dollars. They also employ three out of the top four Republicans in the Iowa Caucus Poll for GOP presidential candidates.

As I explain here, now that Fox News has come out of the closet, it's hard to distinguish where Fox News ends and the Republican Party begins."

There is no parallel situation for the Democrats. The article states "But there is one more factor here. It's not just that Fox News has a point of view. Many publications and shows have a certain perspective as well, whether it's conservative or liberal. It's that Fox News does propaganda. What's the difference?

They don't just have a perspective, they have an agenda. And they drive that agenda until their political goals are met. So, they don't just do the so-called Ground Zero Mosque story on one or two shows randomly depending on the host's interests. They all do it. Their talk show hosts do the story. Their so-called news anchors do the story. They do it 24-7 until it spreads to the other cable news stations, and then thereby spreads into the whole media."

Why is FOX covering this Ground Zero Mosque story relentlessly? The article states "That's not a coincidence, that's a well thought out strategy. And it works like a charm. So, for example, people are confused as to why the Democrats always seem to get slammed in the summers. That's because Congress is in recess, there is a news void and Fox fills that void with whatever propaganda they have decided will incite fear and loathing at that time. So, last summer it was death panels and Tea Parties. This summer it's the "Ground Zero Mosque."

And next summer it'll be something else, but here are the elements I guarantee it will have - a story that is covered non-stop, an incendiary topic that gets people talking, something that either stokes fear and/or hatred and involves a charge based on almost no facts. That's the formula. Watch, come back to this article next August and you will see that's exactly what happened again. The rest of the media is putty in Fox News' hands. So easy to manipulate and control."

Obama labeled FOX as being a propaganda source but it hasn't helped as the article states "And how about the poor Democrats that are the victims of this propaganda machine? They are so clueless and feckless that it's almost hard to feel sorry for them. You begin to feel contempt. Is anyone ever going to fight back against this machine? Do you people even know what's happening to you?

The longer the Democrats and the rest of the media treat Fox News as a legitimate "news station," the longer this will happen. And then everyone will sit around confused about how such a large percentage of the country could think Obama is a Muslim, or that ACORN stole the election for Obama or that Saddam Hussein was connected to 9/11. They will wonder how these demonstrably false stories could get so much traction. All the while as the Fox News propaganda machine hums in the background."

The article "Media Matters: Conservatives' perpetual dishonesty machine" details how the right-wingers use the "Big Lie"!

The article states "Glenn Beck and Rush Limbaugh regularly tout their supposed accuracy and often claim their critics never prove them wrong. Fittingly, this in itself is a complete falsehood. Limbaugh and Beck are wrong for a living, but have been rewarded for their perpetual wrongness by assuming the role of the two most important cogs in the conservative media.

Every day, the conservative noise machine -- Fox News, Beck, Limbaugh, and other prominent conservative talk radio hosts and bloggers -- hurl false accusations with the hopes of damaging the Obama administration, Democrats, and progressives politically. Make no mistake: this is the primary motivation for the majority of the stories they promote. Pesky things like "facts" and "reality" are, at best, a trivial concern.

Often, these attacks are baseless, easily debunked, and laughably absurd -- yet conservative media outlets rarely (if ever) offer corrections when they are proven wrong. Instead they either double down on their attacks or simply ignore that they were wrong in the first place and move on to the next overhyped bit of nonsense."

The article uses as a case in point "While it may seem like a minor story in the grand scheme of things, one example from this week perfectly exemplifies the utter lack of journalistic standards endemic to conservative media.

Early this week, conservatives were in their usual panic mode over what they claimed was evidence that the Obama administration "backed" or "preferred" the release of Abdel Baset al-Megrahi, the terrorist better known as the Lockerbie bomber. As we pointed out, reports -- often the same reports these conservatives were linking to in order to make their arguments -- indicated that the administration wanted Megrahi to "remain imprisoned in view of the nature of the crime."

Fox News twisted reality to claim that the "U.S. Backed Freedom, Not Prison, for Bomber." Matt Drudge splashed a huge headline across his website announcing that the "White House Backed Release Of Lockerbie Bomber." Pam Geller -- whose deranged rantings have earned her frequent appearances on Fox News and bylines on Andrew Breitbart's "Big" websites, Tucker Carlson's Daily Caller, and the American Thinker -- called for a "special investigation" and a "charge of treason" for Obama."

They make up lies and get to a "charge of treason" for Obama." Remember in the fall of 2008 how Michele Bachman wanted the media to investigate in Congress for anti-American views? It is the same pattern. The GOP knows the media will get tired of the story, but the GOP can use it as misinformation that the proles will lap up.

The article reminds us that Beck has "Suggested Obama is pushing America toward civil war and deliberately "trying to destroy the country."

Capped two weeks of violent fear mongering about progressives by warning that when their attempts at a "soft revolution" fail, eventually progressives "just start shooting people."

Said the "people around the president" support "armed insurrection" and "bombing."

Repeatedly insinuated that the Obama administration will kill him."

This rivals "1984" for sheer misinformation! Red staters believed that Hussein was responsible for 9/11. The GOP propaganda machine could make them believe that war is peace.
