Where to Park, Where to Watch Red, White & Boom in Columbus

The launching zone for the 2010 Red, White & Boom fireworks show will once again be behind Veteran's Memorial and the target will be directly above the Scioto River. Civic Center Drive has reopened this year for viewing the Red, White & Boom fireworks. Bicentennial Park will again not be available for fireworks viewing but the new Scioto Audubon Metro Park near the Brewery District provides a grassy bed for blankets.
The best locations for watching the Red, White & Boom fireworks show are Battelle Park, Genoa Park and along Long Street, Nationwide Boulevard and Washington Boulevard.
In 2010 it is still permissible to find a location for fireworks watching as early as sunrise. However, the Broad Street Bridge must remain clear until after 6:30 PM for parade access. Packing a picnic for your Red, White & Boom day is allowed; however, no alcoholic beverages, portable grills, generators or wading pools are permitted.
With the shift north, there is still plenty of parking available. Red, White & Boom visitors wishing to park in the Arena District are encouraged to use the online parking reservation, found here, system to ensure a parking location of their choice. Red, White & Boom parking for RVs can be found at Veteran's Memorial. No in and out parking will be permitted between 7 PM and 11 PM.
Vendors begin opening for Red, White & Boom business at 11:00 AM along Washington Boulevard and Long Street and entertainment begins at noon on the stages at Genoa Park and Long Street. Taste of BOOM begins in the Arena District at 3:00 PM with live entertainment and food from Columbus restaurants until midnight. The annual Independence Day parade will begin at 5:00 PM, leaving COSI on Broad Street and heading East, then north on Front Street to the end at Spring Street.
