Red Yeast Rice - Prevents Heart Attacks

Rice is predominately eaten by 80% of all Asians. It is their stable diet. When rice is socked for 4 to 5 hours and mixed with red yeast, Monascus purpureus and then dried gets is red colour and the rice which is transformed in red colour is called red yeast rice, which lowers the cholesterol level.

Red yeast rice's medicinal property of lowering cholesterol helped researcher come to conclusion that cardiac patients having red yeast rice as diet getting lesser heart attacks.

Ancient Chinese also believe that Red yeast rice has many medicinal benefits like helping in digestion curing diarrhea and improves the blood circulations. Therefore Chinese extensively use Red yeast rice in their diet. They ferment the Red yeast rice to have red wine. Red yeast rice is used for diet as well as for entertainment purpose.

Because of its distinct red colour red yeast rice finds its way in to herbal medicines. Both Chinese as well as in Indian Herbal medicines use red yeast rice in many blood circulation and blood clot drugs. Therefore this red yeast rice can be called as wonder grain.
Many Asian countries use red yeast rice in making wine and pastries, traditionally used in the production of several types of Chinese wine, Japanese sake and Korean rice wine, with give red colour to these above mention wines.

In Asians markets red yeast rice is sold as a whole grains in packets, in powder or in its natural form. It is also sold in wet pasteurized raw rice too. Red yeast rice is also eaten in similar manner as traditional rice.

Of late, red yeast rice has been developed by Chinese and American scientists as an item for consumption to lower blood Lipids, Cholesterol and triglyceridesi. In America it is no longer authorized to sell in market supplements of red yeast rice that contain more than trace amounts of cholesterol lowering substances.

The popularity of red yeast rice is so much that yeast rice continues to be a dietary staple in Indian, China, Japan, and other Asian countries in America too , with an estimated average consumption of 16 to 57 grams of red yeast rice per day per person.

Therefore red yeast rice should be taken by all but it has also some side effects and band in USA. But the good sign that this wonder grain can be taken in diet but after the consultation of doctor. Its advantage is more than its side effects.
