Step One: Clean
Clean everything out of the bathroom. Remove all curtains, shower curtains and shelving. I recommend placing everything inside a Rubbermaid tote or maybe a laundry basket. Then just set it in another room for now.
Step Two: Wash the Walls
Wipe the walls with a wash cloth, just use regular soap and water. Make sure you get all the corners and the ceiling as well.
Step Three: Tape the Edges
Tape the edges of anything that can't be removed from the room. For example, the bathtub, toilet, mirror and sink. You don't want to get paint all over them when you are painting the walls.
Step Four: Paint
First paint the ceiling with your chosen paint, then do the walls. If you do this first thing in the morning, it should be dry by evening.
Step Five: Decorate
Here comes the fun part! You will need the following items to redecorate your bathroom:
Curtain (if you are lucky enough to have a window in your bathroom)
Shower Curtain
Accessories; toothbrush holder, soap dispenser, tissue box, soap dish
Bath Mat
Install the shelving first, then the window curtain rods and finally the toilet paper holder and towel rack. Sometimes you will end up with dust from the sheetrock and you really don't want this all over your new décor! Hang the window and shower curtains next. I recommend using a spring loaded shower curtain rod, that way, you don't have to put more holes in your wall and it's simple to take down when you need to change your shower curtain! When you are finished placing all of your new accessories, bring in your basket of necessities! Put everything back where it belongs and hang your towels. You are done!

If you would like, you can add a few framed pictures or candles in wall style candleholders. But just by following the steps above your bathroom will seem like a whole new room!
