Redneck Father's Day Gift Ideas: From the Cheap to the Pricey
Redneck Dads like Father's Day Gifts, Too
So, what is it the redneck father seems to hold near and dear to his heart in the way of gifts? Let's explore what the redneck father is generally known to enjoy. Most of this breed of tough guys like things that are connected to nature, power tools, sports, women, racing, and food. So, you ask, what types of nature things would be appropriate? Nature gifts: guns, knives, hunting equipment, fishing equipment, camoflaged items, outdoor toys like 4-wheelers or items connected to such.
If you want to buy something in the nature line of gift ideas but your budget is tight, there are plenty of ways to touch your dad's heart by shopping low-cost. Pocket knives can be bought for $20 and less. The local K-Marts, Wal Marts, flea markets, pawn shops, or even your nearest sporting goods store will have sales on knives during holidays such as Father's Day. A manly man will usually say a guy just can't get enough pocket knives. Those Dads who use their knives as often as women use their fingernail files will chip blades, misplace them, and need an extra in different areas such as their glove compartments or tool sheds. If your Dad is one of those who is happy to loan his pocket knife to a friend or co-worker in need, he most likely has been subject to long-term borrowing at some point and has several knives that haven't yet been returned. In this case, it may be a good idea to have a little engraving done on the gift to show Dad how thoughtful you really can be! One knife that is simple in form and appeals to the low-cost budget is the Mossberg 2-blade trapper knife, advertised at Wal Mart stores for $10.42 plus tax. It has stainless steel blades, which is a must for most men, and is made with a genuine bone handle. Can you hear that Dad grunting in pleasure yet?
If it's a price tag and power that appeals to your redneck father, you can jump to the other end of the spectrum of redneck Father's Day gifts and get him that 4-wheeler he's been drooling over for months. There are used versions in papers like the American Classifieds or pawn shops if you are on a low-budget. Otherwise, shopping at local sports equipment stores that sell ATVs can get you a price range of $5000 up to slightly over $8000, depending on whether or not you want the sports version or the utility version (yes, Virginia, size matters). The range of adult sizes for the redneck father would most likely start in the 400 series. Please keep in mind the sorts of shenanigans your father might get involved in with his new toy (ahem...useful recreational vehicle) before you purchase something of this nature.
Suppose your redneck father has that irresistible urge to admire beautiful women, the perfect Father's Day gift for this guy could be the latest Sports Ilustrated Swimsuit Edition calendar. It's functional (who doesn't need a good calendar!), so Mom just might be willing to swallow her protests to appease the beast in her man. These eye-popping sweeties can be found from $3.99 up to $20 on Amazon's list of new and used items.
Racing enthusiasts, of course, vary even among the redneck fathers. There's such a wide variety of racing gifts available it's enough to give a gal a headache. One main consideration is what type of racing your father enjoys. It should be safe to say most redneck fathers would enjoy Nascar related gifts. There are actually gift certificates which can be purchased from the Nascar online superstore! These can be redeemed only at the online site, not in the stores, and must be purchased at a minimum of $5. Remember it's a special day, so don't go too cheap or you'll only insult the receiver. (Redneck Dads do like to brag to their buddies.)
If it's food your beloved Dad enjoys most, you've got it made. Redneck Dads seem to slide over to the meat section of the food table for the most enjoyment. Everyone knows macho equals meat and potatoes. Favorites seem to be steak and barbeque. Of course, nowadays, guys with big appetites are easier to please with the buffet type meals. These usually run from $10 per person on up at the buffets with the most variety and the best prepared foods. You might want to take Dad yourself to get that quality time you've been itching for! In any case, what father would complain about a hardy meal at his favorite restaurant?
