Redo a Room to Redo Your Attitude

Your surroundings have a significant impact on the way you feel. Don't let outdated, worn out, or dreary home décor ruin your mood. Sometimes all it takes to lift your spirits and make you love your home again is a little redecorating. The following tips will help with the attitude adjustments of home décor.

Redo #1 that Can Help Your Attitude

Painting the living room a bright, cheery color will instantly refresh your home and make you feel better. Some colors you might choose are orange and red. These bold colors will spark the imagination and get emotional engines revving. Light shades of yellow and green are also good for brightening up a room. You have to be careful and not go too bright though, or it becomes garish.

Redo #2 that Can Help Your Attitude

Another way to bring color into a room that isn't as extensive as painting is by adding flowers. Every season offers beautiful flowers that will enhance any room. Flowers also help redo your attitude because of the wonderful smells they present.

If you can't afford fresh cut flowers all the time, never fear. There are some very nice artificial flowers out these days. Pick the colors that best match your décor and lift your mood, put them in a vase, and watch the room come to life.

Redo #3 that Can Help Your Attitude

A simple way to redo a room is by putting slipcovers and throw pillows on furniture. Slipcovers come in stylish fabrics and colors now. You are sure to find something that will make the room totally different and redo your attitude toward the whole environment. Throw pillows are a wonderful way to change the dynamic of a room. Let your personality guide your throw pillow choices. Anything from primary colors to animal print is permissible.

Redo #4 that Can Help Your Attitude

Get a new area rug. Area rugs are a great way to add color and style to a room. They especially add flare to rooms with hardwood floors. Breaking up the solid texture of the wood will change the effect of the whole room.

Redo #5 that Can Help Your Attitude

Change the drapes and lampshades in a room to give it a new attitude. This is a very simple and inexpensive way to redo the impact of a room.

Use your imagination and creativity to make your home match your attitude. Small changes can bring about big results if done correctly. Think of the things that make you happy, or colors that inspire you, and purchase accessories and other home décor items accordingly. Redoing your home really can redo your whole attitude. It can help alleviate depression, encourages productivity, and makes you easier to live with. Spice up your attitude by sprucing up your home!

Cool, Sheryl. Sometimes it is just fun pretending and schemeing of what you can do in the future.

My hubby and I both had the flu over NY Eve. While we were sort of "down" - literally and emotionally - we looked around and imagined a redecorated room, which we've been thinking about for a while. It helped!

I write in my "Green Room" - the walls are VERY green, and all the stuff in it is brown or green earthy tones; it works!
