Reduce Wrinkles Around the Eyes and Forehead

Katie D
Facial wrinkles, such as forehead wrinkles or wrinkles around the eyes, make you look older. Because youthful, smooth skin is a sign of beauty, those wrinkles detract from your appearance. If you do have wrinkles on your forehead and around your eyes already, you can reduce them while fighting the formation of any new wrinkles. Skin aging is a natural process, but you can fight the formation of wrinkles and get smoother skin.

Step 1

Drink up. Skin is made up of mostly water, so when you're dehydrated, your skin shows it. Dry skin is more prone to acne and wrinkles, so get adequate water intake. Drink eight 8-oz. glasses of water a day.

Step 2

Eat healthy. Fruits and vegetables in particular contain high amounts of antioxidants, which promote skin health and fight cell breakdown that leads to wrinkles. Fruits and vegetables also help clear toxins from the body, leaving our bodies and skin healthier.

Step 3

Use sunscreen. The sun's rays damage skin, leading to wrinkles. Use sunscreen every time you go outside in the sun, even if you're just walking to and from your car. Some makeup products have sunscreen in them already so you won't have to add another step to your morning routine.

Step 4

Moisturize. While staying hydrated is extremely important, it's not enough to keep skin fully moisturized alone. You need moisturizer to help hydrate the top layers of skin that dry out easily from the air and to lock in moisture to keep your skin hydrated.

Step 5

Use anti-wrinkle creams. Anti-wrinkle creams help diminish fine lines and prevent new wrinkles from forming. Over-the-counter anti-wrinkle creams that contain retinols, amino acids, wheat proteins and flower extracts help fight wrinkles. For more wrinkle-fighting power, get a prescription for a retinol cream to fight wrinkles from your dermatologist. Apply the anti-wrinkle cream regularly to see results.

Step 6

Reduce your stress level. If you wrinkle your forehead when you're worried, you're deepening any lines that are already there. Find ways to unwind and pay attention to your facial expressions to make sure you're not adding to your wrinkles. If you notice yourself tightening your forehead or around your eyes, release the tension from your face and take a deep breath. Get in the habit of keeping your face relaxed.Skill
